Excellent bike! Spend the xtra money get the 20 amp, this is such a fun beautiful bike, zero issues so far, I have about 250 miles on it in about a month! Did a few mods, new handlebars grip, pedals, extended stem for a higher bar. Great bike. Not easy to pedal if ur taller, but honestly those of us who buy these motercycle style e-bikes aren't peddling! After installing your motor core, whilst installing the rear tire, it came to my attention that your hub shell is beginning to crack on the non drive (disc brake) side between two spokes. It is a matter of time before the crack develops into a break. So you would need a new motor shell laced into a new wheel or a new wheel all together. This is typically covered under manufacturer warranty as there is no visible indication that this was caused by misuse or crash. Then, after installing the wheel into the frame, it appears that the new core's axle spacing is too narrow. This causes the rear of the frame compress and angles the rear brake caliper against the rotor instead of being parallel to it causing severe disc rub. The angle of the caliper is so severe that it cannot be compensated for by standard caliper adjustment To remedy this we need either a longer axle in the core or thicker wheel hardware to compensate. This also is typically covered by manufacturer warranty. Unfortunately I am not aware of any Ridstar dealers/ associated service providers. I have also reviewed their warranty policy and it claims: "If a component is deemed to be defective or damaged without user error, we will issue a replacement part from local warehouse in USA/Europe. We will assist you in replacing any defective part. We will replace any parts deemed to have been damaged during shipping. We will provide the owner a replacement product if the product can not be repaired after a reasonable number of tries as determined by RIDSTAR" The policy also states "RIDSTAR Warranty Does Not Cover Labor charges for part replacement or changeover" According to our records the total labor charges due to seemingly defective components currently totals $215. With a replacement rear wheel, assuming the axle spacing is correct and no further warranty parts will need to be installed, there will be another $45 installation added to this total. We recommend requesting one of the following options from Ridstar's warranty department: A) A new rear hub motor wheel including motor core for replacement OR B) A full product replacement as per Ridstar warranty policy. The concern I have regarding replacement parts is that the motor core that was provided for THIS warranty claim was improperly spaced and this may occur again. We have sent photos showing both the cracked rear hub and the spacing issue caused by the improperly spaced rear axle. Include these in your warranty claim. With this many problems since day one, I need to return this ebike and get my money back. ! ... show more

I purchased 2 at the same time both came in quicker than expected and well protected in their packaging. One bike had the horn and headlight reversed but a quick message with the seller and they are shipping the repair connector out. So far we are enjoying them.

    • Great Value Bike for the price!
This is our 4th Ebike and 3rd company we have tried with recent purchases, and I must say that we are impressed with the Ridstar Q20. We were initially skeptical given the low price point, but when we received the bike it came packaged well and was easy to assemble. Many of the components are good and work well. Not many bikes out there offer full front and rear suspension, hydraulic brakes (180mm), and a controller that peaks at 30a. It would be nice to see adjustable front suspension, along with a better rear...but again for the price point there are few bikes that can compete with Ridstar at the moment. What is most impressive with Ridstar was their customer service and support. Initially the bike didn't operate as expected when compared to other PAS bikes. The controller was programmed to start slow (long delay from the cadence sensor) and very, VERY gradually ramp up the power. If you stopped pedaling when up to speed and started again, the PAS setting would start from the beginning (delayed, then slow ramp up in power). It ended up being a useless PAS mode bike as my son had to use the throttle when doing family rides or he would fall behind due to the lag and delay in the PAS. We contacted RidStar to explain the issue and they stated that is how they program their bikes, but if we wanted to have it adjusted they would send a new controller. Within 4 days of the email we received the new controller and the bike works great!!! Ridstar was able to understand the issue and made it right without any hesitation. They were prompt on every reply and genuinely wanted to help back their product. I would recommend Ridstar based on this current interaction and recent purchase. I look forward to future iterations of their bikes and hope they continue to refine and develop their bikes. Again, great value bike for the price...but EXTREMELY great customer service...unlike some other "brand" name companies we have had recent issues with. ... show more

    • The service for repair is a joke
My sons bike bike broke 3 months after purchase we got the extended warranty and here we are 3 months after we tried numerous times to have it fixed the bike is sitting here still broke no one clear from the place we got it, Amazon, or the warranty suasion will help us so I am sitting on an 1600 bike for no good can’t get ahold or no where with anyone or place very sad cause I have 4 more kids coming and I will not purchase from here again ... show more
