I was skeptical of these bobbins at first. I have used pre-wound bobbins for all of my embroidery work. But I have never used side-less bobbins. Finding the starting thread was easy for three bobbins that I looked at. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the starting thread on pre-wound bobbins. A photo of the design that I stitched out is included. There was no problem with the design and no bobbin issues at all. I will provide additional feedback it there are any issues as I get to the last of the bobbin. I would like to suggest that they also have a box that is 1/2 white and 1/2 black thread. This large box of pre-wound bobbins is a great deal. It is so nice to have bobbins all ready to go. Gone are the days of having to pull the thread out of the machine and set it up to thread the bobbin in the middle of your project. Now if my bobbin runs out all I have to do is grab another one and load it in. I wasn't sure how well they would work since I have previously only used bobbins with sides on them but these work exactly the same without any issues. I got the white thread because I use that for most of my sewing projects but now that I have used them I am thinking about buying a box of black as well. These will make your sewing so much more enjoyable and I have found they actually sew even better than those that I wind myself. They will make light of your work so go ahead and treat yourself to a box full that will last for many projects. ... show more

These RICHWORD Prewound Bobbins, White SideLess 144pcs Size L(SA155), 75D/2(60WT) are not what was expected, as the images on the page show these along with normal bobbins with plastic sides. These are only thread, wound on a center core as if they were a bobbin, but without sides. The threat is stuck to itself so it does not unwind. They were able to be made to work on a Janome machine, put on the spool holder, and the thread feeding around the disc. It is sewing fine this way. We will see if it continues as the spool gets smaller. So, if you want thread with no spool, this is for you, but most people will wont bobbins with sides. ... show more

I was surprised these rewound bobbins actually worked. They aren't as thick so I was worried they would just bounce around in the bobbin case. Not so. They stayed put and everything I sewed or machine embroidered with worked well. Very happy with these. Haven't used enough to know if you can wind new thread back onto them or not. Very easy to use. I have several businesses and I have used pre-wound bobbins on my commercial machines with great results. I did not know they made them for home machines till I saw these. I tried them in my Janome and they work great! You cannot wind bobbins as well as the ones that make pre-wound bobbins and they even carry more thread that way, allowing you to sew longer with one bobbin. Use caution when ordering these... The description says sideless, but then several of the sales pictures show plastic spools with full sides. These have no sides at all, but a center pipe that isn't absolutely smooth on the edges. It appears these would actually work in my machine except the slight roughness in the sides causes the bobbin to hitch and catch. The thread is also much thinner than normal all purpose thread, though it seems about average strength despite being so thin. ... show more

My first time trying out sideless bobbins, and so far these are working well. These fit great onto my small mini sewing machine, which I was worried about, but I was able to pop them right into the bobbin spool and did not have to use the thread holder at the top. Happy to cut down on any packaging waste with these, however small, and no, they don't come unwound as you sew, they're wound in a certain way where that doesn't happen. What a world we live in! The thread is expected lightweight 60W white polester thread. It's very good for embroidery, and can be used in other cases too. The bobbin has no sides, only the core. It's impressive this works. I guess it means with the same height standard, they need to add more thread. Because if not, it's be shorter. What I observed is, whenever I need to take the bobbin case out in order to change color, the bobbin would drop out very easily. It's not a big deal but inconvenient. Sometimes I took it out only to check what color I had there. And I needed to re-install because it's dropped. It still worked fine though after re-installed multiple times. ... show more
