Very handy tool for me to have in my house and an extra in my bag. Having a bad hip makes bending a painful endeavor just to grab something I dropped like my keys. The magnet does great picking up my batch of about 7 keys with a big car key fob. The grabber works good and a lot better than the toy grabbers I played with as a kid. I was impressed when I read that this grabber/reacher to pickup dropped stuff had magnets near the tips of the jaws and was also capable of picking up flat items. It is going to be an important tool to use at my workbench, especially to pick up dropped nails or screws. The grabber folds into three sections which can be securely joined by clamps for use. For storage an attached Velcro strap holds the folded sections tightly and a loop-strap on the handle helps you keep the grabber on your wrist. The handle and jaws are connected by a strong, stretchable fiber. The jaws can be rotated easily by pulling them out and resetting them at the angle you want. The 4” wide jaws have ridged, pliable “teeth” that can grip small or even thin, flat objects. The handle and trigger are easy to hold and use. The images I’ve included show several views of the grabber itself as well as in action using a magnet to pick up a key ring and the jaws to pick up a small scissors and the key ring by a small, flat scan tag. The jaws also picked up a dime coin laying flat on a table, but that did take a bit more work and isn’t pictured. The instruction pamphlet has good photos as does the product page. One item of interest is that the magnets are rated to pick up only about 147 grams. The last page is a help FAQ that discusses a few things the grabber can't do, such as change light blubs or comfortably lift more than about 2 pounds comfortably. All-in-all, this seems like a very rugged tool that could be used in lots of situations by people who have difficulty bending over, kneeling, or reaching very far to pick up or move something. ... show more

    • A sturdy FOLDABLE grabber tool
In my town, there's a "freight" store that has weekly coupons to draw shoppers in. Often there's a grabber tool that is on sale in the $2-3 range. It's a great price, but the price also reflects the quality of the tool. Not the best & certainly not collapsible or sturdy enough to handle anything but the lightest of objects. This foldable grabber tool has such a more sensible storage size with its folding capability. The little latches that lock it into its open position are easy to understand & manipulate even for the clumsiest of fingers. The grabber can handle something fairly substantial, though it's not intended to hold that object for any extended length of time. Magnets on the outside of each grabber prong make retrieval of keys, nails, bobby pins simple. (Not coins - why do people say they've used this to pick up coins? Coins aren't magnetic.) At the time I ordered this, there was also a 40" grabber tool that I was initially going to order instead of this 37" one, but I live in California, and as often happens the 40" tool couldn't be shipped to me in California. The 37" tool could. (Probably something to do with the packaging and the California regulations that require mandatory warning labels on products that contain certain chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. If products don't have the warning label Amazon can't ship them to California. I don't know - that's just a guess.) ... show more

As someone who struggles with mobility issues, I was excited to try out the 37" Long Grabber Tool. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say that it has made a huge difference in my day-to-day life. The grabber tool's 37-inch length makes it easy to reach items without having to strain your back or bend down. The rotating head also adds versatility, allowing me to pick up items from different angles. I was pleasantly surprised by the grabber's weight capacity of up to 1 lb, which has allowed me to pick up heavier items with ease. The grabber tool's foldable design is also a huge plus. It folds down to just 14.2 inches, making it easy to store in a closet or attach to my mobility aids such as my walker. The two magnets included in the grabber tool have also come in handy for picking up small metallic items such as nails, batteries, and coins. However, I did notice that the 4" wide claw opening could be a bit larger. This hasn't been a major issue for me, but it may be something to keep in mind if you're looking to pick up larger items. Overall, I would highly recommend the 37" Long Grabber Tool for anyone who struggles with mobility issues or simply wants to make their life a bit easier. This is one of those tools you don't realize how much use (and oddly enjoyment) you'll get out of it - til you have it. I have always seen these used in movies and they looked like a lot of fun - and something very useful to have around the house for many uses. I was not wrong, but I was surprised how much fun this thing actually ended up being. My daughter and I had fun playing around and seeing what we could hand off/pick up from each other. It easily folds up into 3 separate parts, and Velcro straps together for easy carrying - it even has a little loop to hang it off a backpack or anything for storage. The claw is also magnetic so things like screws, keys, etc with automatically link to it, as long as it doesn't have too much weight. The claw is easily clasped by gripping on the handle and has a fluid open/close movement. Perfect for disabled, elderly, injured, or special needs people to have more ease of movement and access.
