I am an extrovert who generally likes my games to be fast-paced and exciting. The first time I played Fox In The Forest I didn't care for it. But then we took it with us on a cruise. If you've ever been on a cruise you know there's plenty of fast-paced excitement. This game was perfect for those times when we wanted to slow down and enjoy some quiet. The art is beautiful and serene, and gameplay has just the right amount of thinking to make it interesting, without feeling like work. I am buying another one for a couple we play games with. My husband and I and the rest of my family who is now grown up, always love playing games. I was looking for something other than that gammon or cribbage that could be played by two people. Since we love playing spades with the family when they’re here, I decided to try this one. Fox in the forest is very pretty, easy to learn, and plays similar to spades, but the special Cards And the different goals make it more fun. It’s good if you watch a tutorial on how to play and then play it at least four times to begin to understand the strategy. It’s a little more complicated than it looks to get the feel of it. In spades all you’re doing is trying to get exactly the amount of tricks that you bid you could take. In fox in the forest you were trying for a targeted area and trying to keep your partner in another part targeted area by using the special cards. I really recommend it for people who want to play a game that doesn’t take very long. It’s the perfect thing to throw in your suitcase for those nights in a motel where you order dinner in and don’t wanna watch TV. ... show more

So much fun. Me and my girlfriend are the couple that are constantly inviting friends over to play various games. This is the game we play when we get shot down! It is definitely a strategic game more so than a luck game, which I prefer. It is a trick taking game exclusively made for two players. To me that's the biggest selling point for the fox in the Forrest, since most trick taking card games require 4 players. Disclaimer : I love trick taking card games, so I feel that should be mentioned. But this if you like fun card games!! I had a serious accident recently and my ability to follow directions has been dramatically decreased. Being at home much more lately, I decided to invest in a few games for my wife and I to play in the evenings. Of the 3 I bought, I love this one the best. The directions are fairly simple to follow and comprehend and it only took following along for 1 hand to understand the game. We play 1 or 2 games of this nightly and it is still enjoyable.
