I've owned and been happy with an older Remington trimmer for close to 10 years. See attached pic. Best money spent. It STILL holds a charge for weeks between use. I use it without a guard to trim side burns, remove unwanted or stray hairs, and trim the back of my neck and square back up the back of my hair line. With the guard I tame down the chest hair or where ever needs it. I even used it during Covid to give myself a haircut because it wasn't possible to get one for so long. My adjustable guard attachment broke and I was sick and tired of holding it in position to trim what I needed to so I decided to pick up this newer model. That and figured the blades would be new and sharp another plus. So here's what I've learned, tips I'm sharing as well as opinions. First go buy blade oil and use it regularly. It will keep the blades sharp. Just run a small amount over the blades, turn it on and let it run for a couple of minutes, then you're done. The adjustable guard attachment is plastic NOT heavy duty so yes you can break it or strip it out if you man handle it or force it on or up and down adjusting the length. That's what the push button is for so just go easy with it and it will last a long time. I found out the hard way when one day it just started slipping down on it's own. I'd stripped it out as well as cracked it from over the course of time repeatedly pushing on the top of the guard itself or pulling it up by hand. Dropping it in the sink by accident a few times didn't help matters either I'm sure. Live and learn. This should go without saying but never leave the trimmer on the charger plugged between uses you don't need to and it shortens the life of the battery. Charge it up for a few hours and take it off and put it away. After using the trimmer for however long I need I put it on the charger for 4-6 hours and then take it off In my opinion I think the attachments nose hair trimmer and foil are just junk. Any brand trimmer I've purchased and tried they either catch or pull and are more pain inflicting than a convenience. Maybe others have better luck but I never have. Those looking for a close shave, this is not a electric razor/shaver it was never meant to be. It will never give you the results that one would. Save yourself the hassle and disappointment and dish out the extra money to buy a full sized and featured electric razor not a trimmer. I'm rating it 5 stars taking into account as of now the battery life will be the same as my old one. Otherwise it's identical in performance. One thing I was disappointed about is the pic of the product leads you to believe the 3 bars on the handle that light up green when plugged in are to indicate the level of charge. They're NOT it just lights up to tell you it's charging that's it. If I run into charging issues or it dies or a charge doesn't last as long I'll update and deduct stars from my review. ... show more

Best used when detailing and shaping up the face/beard, this is not for clean shaves fully but can be combined with foil shaver attachment to give the cleanest electric shave possible. I used it right out of the box, no charging to test it out and all attachments. All worked good and have been using it about 2 times per week. The nose hair trimmer attachment: must be aimed at certain angles in order to work fully, does not do a good job with eyebrows, your better off using a small scissors to get more of a clean cut. Foil shaver attachment: is great for detailing and looking extra clean in all areas, but it is not extremely powerful, you'll find yourself going through about 2 or 3 passes just for it to work on hairs even when trimmed down. Beard guard: Works well, but only goes in length of 2mm. So 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, etc. Sucks for people who trim there beard or other areas to 3mm length and such, you'll never get that cut. The 3mm, 6mm, and 9mm attachments: I only tested the 3mm guard on the blade, works well for beards and gives the great just shaved/trimmed look and feel, simple to attach to the razor, just push down and hear the click, only works well for beards and necklines, everything else not that great. The razor blade itself (no attachments): The full size trimmer trims to about 1-2mm with no attachments/guards added, but the blade itself gets very hot very fast. Overall, if you find this for a great deal with all attachments for $10 like I did, totally worth it. The pouch it comes with is great and keeps all attachments in it perfectly. Each attachment is held in a small plastic to cover it and all attachments are washable and reusable. Makes cleaning very easy. ... show more

I bought this trimmer in March 2020 to cut my husband’s & son’s hair. January 2025 & it’s still going strong. Easy to use, easy to clean, still holds a charge - and the only reason I’m on here today is to see if I can find replacement blades.

This is my third set and I’m already having battery issues after fully charged. It doesn’t last too long, it’s been just a few weeks with barely any use and it’s dead, which luckily isn’t too big a deal bc it recharges, obviously, so I’ve learned to charge it every week or so. I use it for about 2 minutes twice a week, so not really any excuse for the poor battery life. The other two went bad each around the one year mark, with the trimmer blades developing cutting issues and re-oiling/cleaning ineffective in spite of incessant immaculate upkeep. The plastic adjustable-level-piece is less than inadequate with teeth one by one breaking off after just normal use, starting around 6 months, and nearly toothless by the time the blades start having issues at 12months. BUT, it’s very small and cuts well enough for haircuts for 3 people plus regularly trimming beards. It extremely versatile for super close (barely a five o’clock shadow) to as long as you need. It is exceptionally smooth on the skin, with no knicks or cuts like most bigger ones incur. I can press pretty hard into my face with the bare blade to get a nearly clean shave fast and it shapes around the ears with ease. Plus it handles well with its form fitting shape (like an hour glass) and small size for maneuvering, so it’s super easy to grip. And that’s the best part versus all the others I’ve ever had: quality of trim/cut and handling. So in spite of the short battery and blade life, it’s not too bad to fork over this cost once a year considering how expensive it would be to pay a barber as often as I want a trim. ... show more
