Reviewing Rebotipy Paint by Number for Adults, I ordered this because I fell in love with the picture (Number 08, Raccoon). The canvas is linen, so different from the plastic-y canvas that is glued onto backer board that you usually get with the paint-by-numbers set. There are plenty of different colors of paint included and three low-quality brushes (as expected). Oh, and some hanging clips. Even though the paints have a number on them that corresponds with the numbered sections on the canvas, there is also a paper included that has the numbers on it, so if you accidentally paint over a number and second guess yourself, you can reference the paper that is included. I am opting to use my own brushes and so far, so good. I tried the brushes that came with the set, and the brushes are not high enough quality to paint the smaller, more detailed areas. The edges are not completely straight, and they shed. None of this should be a shock because the paint-by-numbers kits always come with cheap brushes, so I am not docking any stars for that. I’m including pictures of the box because, 1. Some of the things on the box do not correspond with the type of item. For instance, the back of the box says, in large, bold type, “To My Lover”, and 2. There are several bad misspellings on the box. These are important points because it shows how little research and proofing was put into the product. Normally, that wouldn’t matter for certain products, but when you are dealing with potentially toxic substances, it leaves you wondering if the paints would pass muster here if the ingredients were evaluated. I feel this is important to mention because a lot of people order paint-by-number kits for kids and kids end up tasting paint or painting their skin, so be aware. There’s no guarantee this is any more toxic than traditional acrylic paint, but there’s no way to know for sure short of a lab analysis. As for the rest of the kit, the linen canvas is good quality, the picture is just like shown in the listing. There appears to be enough paint, but until I finish, I will not know, and it will take me months to finish (not because it’s complicated but because I enjoy taking my time with these type of projects). I like this kit, but I’m careful with substances like paint, so I’m willing to take the risk of it being toxic. ... show more
