I bought this for my 9U catcher. It's a very comfortable, thick glove. Good quality for the price- it did take some time to break it in because we don't believe in the steam process. The glove’s leather is stiff and does require break in, oil and work to get to a broken in point where my 8 year old can effectively use it. The break in work is worth it. My son loves the glove. The R-9 series of Rawlings are well made. This catcher's mitt is durable, has a great pocket and made of quality leather. It was a bit stiff to break in, but worth the time. My LLer has a tutor who played professionally and he really likes this one.

Exactly what you would expect from Rawlings. My son is 8.5 and this catchers mitt fits him perfectly. It will take some breaking in but all quality gloves do. It’s not a cheap generic mitt, it’s a great glove for youth catchers.
