  • Heavy Duty to Handle the Job!
Style: 6 FT
The media could not be loaded. This rake is strong and does serve its purpose to be versatile to handle multiple tasks for most general yard work. The strength of this rake is great to handle mulch, gravel, sand, and soil. I do a major cleaning in my backyard once a year before the spring months and often have a lot of work to do with cleaning up dead leaves and weed and weed and tree branches. I have a lovely garden every year, but it takes a lot of work to keep it in tip top shape. My rake was not good anymore and I used my neighbor rake this year. His was made from thin metal tines and the tines were spaced closely together. His rake started bending when I tried to rake up some branches. And my thought was I hope I do not damage his rake. So, I got easier with using it. It surely made my productivity so much slower. I needed a rake that I could pound into the ground and dig out the roots of some unwanted plants and weeds and trees. Not all rakes can do this job without putting a lot of force into it and some rakes just cannot handle the work like my neighbor's rake. This rake is strong, and the head is about 10 times the strength of my neighbor's rake. The poles are equally as strong made of metal but does not feel heavy but lightweight because they are hollow. Because they are hollow it makes it a lot easier to be more productive and flexible in my back yard with ease. I am in old woman about 119lbs and can use this rake with little force and it does not make the workload feel heavy but indeed a lot lighter. I gave back my neighbor rake and started using this one and got the rest of the job done a lot faster. And I was not worried about bending the tines because these tines on this garden rake are hard as a rock. Although I will have to shop for a Collinear hoe to help to be more productive in removing the roots of some weeds and trees because some of the roots are planted deeper into the soil. The metal pole locks securely in place with a little push and turning. And I especially love the exceptional care they put into this rake with the rubber caps over the tines. You just do not find that attention of care giving with most rakes out there. The rubber caps are easy to remove and put back on. They just slide on and off the tines and because they are made of rubber this makes them slick and smooth to slide on and off. I thought this was such a tender loving care especially when you have wild animals that may sneak into your garage and certainly can prevent accidents from happening to yourself or others. I love the way this rake is adjustable, not like other rakes out there that are adjustable with some kind of level to pull out or the ones that work by holding down a button and pulling a section of the pole out. Those kinds are more difficult to handle and sometimes lock in place and no longer adjustable. To me this rake works better for adjusting various levels that can be easier to handle and far more creative to being far more flexible and productive. You simply attached the poles to the rake to get the desired length you feel more comfortable to work with. It certainly does come in handy to attach all the poles when I am working to remove branches or weed hidden inside a larger tree and helps to effectively pull them out. This rake works great as a garden rake if you are into raking up soil. It is simple to put this rake together and does not need the instructions and you just attach the poles and fasten the head of the rake. ... show more

  • Has relieved my yard work
Style: 5 FT
I live in a rural area that is all surrounded by trees. Sometimes it is a challenge to remove all the leaves that fall to the floor. up to now I have had plastic rakes bought from a nearby hardware store, but all do tend to break up after various months of use. I considered this metal rake for the longevity it might bring for me in terms of use and I am quite satisfied with it. The rake came in parts so I had to basically "construct" it. All the required parts and assembly took no less than 5 minutes and are included in the box. It was very easy. After that, the handling is nice. The rake is slightly heavy but not that much. And what one thing I really liked was that I can make it more or less longer according to my garden needs. The tips are strong and I find it very stiff even for a handle that is designed to work with interchangeable pieces. The top portion has a plastic cover which has a hole to hang with my other garden tools. It is very sturdy and strong and I know it will make my life easier on the raking tasks. ... show more

  • It's more like a pick-your-length rather than an adjustable rake.
Style: 6 FT
This rake comes with a head and five handle segments that are each about 16" long. You screw together as many as you need to make the length hose you need. I am 5'5" and used the head and four handle segments to make a rake I am comfortable with, as shown in the first picture. I'll hang onto the last handle segment in case I ever need a super long rake. The head is sturdy and the tines just the right size and sharpness for a garden rake, in my opinion. The tines come with individual soft plastic covers to keep them from poking through the box and that are quite hard to get off. My only concern is with the hollow handle with four joints in it, whether it might loosen and get wobbly. Time will tell. I just had to share the warning on the outside of the box (second picture), which warned in TWO places on a not very big box "Dear customer, Please read the instruction manual of the product carefully before using the product." The third picture shows the instruction manual, a postcard sized piece of paper containing very little useful information, not even "Do not leave rake lying on ground with tines up". Fortunately this rake doesn't need many instructions. I recommend this rake. ... show more

  • Sturdy And Versatile
Style: 6 FT
I had never seen a rake with a 6-foot handle before, and didn't know how much I needed it until I saw this one. But then I realized how much easier it will be to rake under spiny bushes or hook a tree branch for trimming or just reach further into the work area. I really don't know why they sell the shorter versions--just get the long one and shorten / lengthen as needed. The rake seems to be sturdy, with welds to hold the toothy bar to the metal bows. The handle appears to be strong enough to stand up to normal use, but would probably bend fairly easily under prying stresses. I'm planning to attach the head with two bolts and/or apply a coating to reduce the amount of play between the rake head and the handle, as there is a bit of looseness there. Overall, a good rake of an unusual design that seems like it will fill a niche role in garden implements. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty and Adjustable
Style: 6 FT
This is a great rake for all your raking needs. It is very sturdy with the ability to adjust the length of the handle. I used this rake to pull compost out of the bed of my truck, to pull up weeds, gathering leaves, and to raking in soil. This rake has 5 detachable sturdy poles that make up the handle. This allows you to adjust the handle for a small or tall person. This flexiblity also makes it easy to transport. The head/tines of the rake are sturdy, and so far has performed well in some rough work. Assembly is easy, despite the little instructions that the rake comes with. There is just one bolt and screw you to use when you connect the first pole section to the rake. Other than that, the rest of the pole segments just screw into one another. I recommend! ... show more
