Absolutely for beginners. The drone is very lightweight but pretty sturdy, which you'll find after crashing it several times getting to know it. LOL There is a guy on Youtube who goes over the functions, setup with the app, and how the controls work that helped me more than anything. The app you need to record with this is clunky, awful, and keeps disconnecting from its own Wifi, but it does work and it automatically saves video to your phone, which is fantastic. Two rechargeable batteries come with it, which you need because they last around 20 minutes each. The downside is that they don't have indicator lights to let you know when they're charged. It also comes with three AAA batteries for the remote, which is nice. The instructions were pretty bad and the print is tiny, which made them extremely hard to deal with. I ended up photographing them with my phone to blow them up. As I mentioned, YouTubers are much more helpful than the printed instructions. As far as the drone itself, it almost defies you to keep it steady and doesn't hover in one spot, always drifting left or right, needing constant readjusting, but once you get used to this it's pretty responsive to the remote. Definitely good for learning on, but for anyone experienced with drones, you'll want a lot more functionality than this has. ... show more

I've had my eye on this drone for a while now. I've tried quite a few others that were much smaller, and a lot less features. I have yet to try the camera portion of it, but I'm getting there. The flight itself is pretty easy to get started. The control is really good. I'm having some issues with flying it and then turning directions, for some reason that throws me off... but that's a me thing. I will say this. If you're not used to them, it's best to start in an open area, like a park or something and then get used to the take off, some basic flight and then landing of course. This is an excellent drone for beginners who want a tough, high-quality drone with a camera for a decent price. The controls are easy to use and the drone flies very well. It comes with two batteries that last about 10 minutes each when fully charged. The photo and video quality aren't the greatest but are still good for the price. This is my first drone and I crashed it hard at least a dozen times before I got the hang of it and it still flies like the first day I used it. Due to time constraints I was unable to use the product when I received it and when I finally got around to it, it was outside the return window. When I tried the drone, there was a connection issue and failure. I reached out to support who responded within hours and sent a replacement within a couple days. On to the drone itself: I believe the first one was faulty because the second has no issues at all. This is my first ever drone and I purchased it due to reviews and the price. It's a good investment to learn how to fly the things. The camera is okay (I'm used to Pixel camera quality😉). Has a nice carrying case and would recommend. I originally bought this for my girlfriends son, and I wanted to try it out before his bday, to make sure it worked fine. Well it worked so fine, I actually bought one for myself too lol I love it, the battery lasts as long as it says it does, and it comes with 2 also. The charge time doesn't take half as long as I thought (which is very fast also) and he can't put it down now lol!! We love this drone; it's a great beginner drone and good for kids. My 10 year old daughter bought it for herself and has been using it constantly! It took her a minute to figure out why it was pulling to one side and that it needed to be calibrated...it now flies perfectly! We had to do some experimenting to figure out the blade protectors and then noticed there are helpful numbers/letters to match each protector. They snap on really easily when you match the numbers/letters. We recommend not flying it in the wind because the wind will grab it and go. In talking with other mini drone owners of all different brands, this just seems to be par for the course with winds and drones. Overall we recommend buying this drone! ... show more

    • It is a fun drone to fly, but you have to actively fly it.

This drone the RADCLO mini drone is not GPS enabled so you must actively fly it, it will not hold a position on its own. That being said it is fun to fly, The Radio must be trimmed for each flight in order to try to hold a position. Wind will push it off course. For the money I think it is a great buy. It flew about 10-15 minutes on one battery. I have only flown it one time so far with the radio. I have not flown it with my phone and camera on. That would make things easier I assume ... show more
