I am using this as a thin protective layer on top of a new natural, unfinished cherry desk. It takes the place of a mouse pad also. It unrolled nicely and is working perfectly for this purpose. My only complaint is I cannot find it longer than 48”. The brands that make longer rolls (at this width) have horrible reviews (break apart upon unrolling). I have used about 8 rolls so far, lining tool drawers and the inside bottoms of my tool boxes. (I don't like the rubber/foam tool drawer liners) I use contact cement for fixing it in place. This is a material made from a natural resource AND it is thin, you might get a crack or 2 from handling. Personally, I expected that to happen. From my experience, cracks tend to affect the inside of the rolls, understandable since the cork has the tightest bending there. A good, sharp pair of scissors is the best way to cut it, in my opinion. I cover the sides and bottom of the drawers with a single piece. I am able to get the cork nice and tight in the corners of the sides and bottom. This is good for use as a lining material, or for the bottom of a lamp, etc. to prevent scratches on furniture. I would not try to use this for a cork noteboard with using thumbtacks. It is just too thin. Yes, it is easy to cause it to crack if you are not careful. I recommend making sure you have a large, unobstructed area to roll it out. Have a couple of small, heavy objects/paper weights ready to hold it down to lay out, measure and cut it. I needed some cork to serve as a pad on some wooden trays and coasters I was making. The local woodworking place didn't have any and they suggested getting cork gasket material from the autoparts store. I decided to go another route and this was it...it's nice and thin, cuts easily and seems pretty tightly pressed together. Nice and soft so it won't scratch what I set it on. It's very thin though, maybe 1/16", so it's not really going to be something for a bulletin board. ... show more

I purchased this cork roll to put on the inside of my kitchen cabinets but it is super thin. I went ahead and put a small piece on the inside of one cabinet but when I tried to use a push pin to hold up a recipe, it wouldn't "stick" since the cork is pretty much paper thin. So back to the drawing board to find something a lot thicker. I honestly don't know what you would use this for. Decoration? To go over material that behaves as the "cork" part of "cork board"?? ... show more

Bought a year ago, SHOCKED at how thin it is, bought a second time and figured I could just layer it. I should have bought some other brand at that point, because a year later it's disintegrated and I'm back to buy something thicker. Don't recommend *at all*.

The best cork roll I have ever used. Usually you can find same quality product in Lowe’s and/Home Depot, but not always can you do so. And you don’t want some cheap substitutes for your project, which are badly made of low quality cork particles. This product on Amazon is a little bit more expensive than the ones you can find in your local store, but it is really great product with excellent sturdiness and natural tan color. What is more, it said 1/16 inch thick, but it is 2.0mm, thicker than 1/16 inch or 1.6mm. You will never go wrong with this product. I will definitely buy more of this on Amazon cause my local store doesn’t carry it. ... show more
