I love it because he is able to use the pen himself and because it is a different voice other than mine saying the words he likes to repeat them. He will repeat everything that the little pen says. I bought this for my eight year old daughter and she really enjoys it. She has been learning a little Spanish from kids at school. This has a facet which allows children to learn Spanish as they use the map. The only way I think this product could be "improved", is if there were a molded eyelet on the end of the electronic pen so you could run a string through it and hang it with the map on the way so it doesn't get lost. Let's face it, its kind of a small item which easily get lost amongst your child's toys; then this renders the map almost useless. ... show more

I got the puzzle and educational map as Christmas gifts for my son, I didn't want to overspent on kid's meaningless toys that's why I thought the interacting map was the best gift to educate a pre-school kid. My son fell in love with it as soon as he unwrapped it, the 'magic' pen talked to him and played the anthem and even fun stories for him, and soon after I found that my boy started to be able to pronounce some states and know their capital cities, even their location!!! Love the map! Purchased it for an advanced four year old. Very easy for him to use and the entire family has enjoyed it. The game feature is one of our favorite parts of the map. I bought this for a 4 1/2 year old and it was a bit advanced for her. I think she'll grow into it as she's very curious and sharp but next Christmas may have been a better idea. There's a ton of great information and it was pretty easy to use so I'd definitely recommend it to others but perhaps for kids over 6. ... show more

By using technology, we easily combined two of his favorite pastimes. Now when the device is talking, he is learning not only the states but geography, the capitals, “fun facts,” and much more. I feel like these usually don't live up to expectations. But this thing actually works!!!! My kids (4 & 6) have learned so many cool facts from this map, and it just is so easy to use. It's fun and drives their curiosity and hasn't been cheaply made. That's a win, win, win for me! Highly recommend.
