I love these speakers Best bang for your buck Packaging was great. Comes with all the hardware for custom installation as well as the wiring to either splice it to your OEM wiring or to run it to an amplifier. They also come with protective grilles. The sound is amazing. The bass reflex is amazing to. BUT i would suggest you get the 8 way 6x9s with these as well as the mid bass 6.5s I have the 6x9s installed and these and the combo of the two have blown me away. Sure theres products like Pioneer and Sony and Kenwood but Pyle is the more reasonably priced ones and they are the best in my opinion. I have messed with other brands but nothing has performed as well as these. Like I said they come with everything you need, hardware, wiring, and grilles. The only flaw is there's no real instruction manual to go with them so you're on your own when wiring them up. ALWAYS DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY WHEN INSTALLING SPEAKERS ... show more

    • 2001 Altima Door Speakers - Make 'em fit!
After replacing some worn out OEM speakers in the rear deck of my 2001 Altima with a cheaper pair of Pyles, I realized my door speakers were a little bit blown, as well. The $20 blue Pyles were satisfactory, but no longer came with free shipping, so I decided to try the Pyle PLG6.4 6.5-Inch 300 Watt speakers for my doors. There were no height or depth clearance issues (power windows clear the speakers fine) but the process was more difficult than I expected. First, the Altima door speaker mount has two plastic guide pins for orienting OEM speakers. I used a side cutter to lop them off and a utility knife to smooth the surface, but it could probably be done entirely with the utility knife. The best hole pattern in the speaker has the holes spaced too far apart for the existing mounting holes (which must be used). I busted the plastic ring off one of the old speakers and duct taped it to the new as a template, then drilled another set of mounting holes in the speaker flange. Don't forget to find some way to keep the metal drill shavings away from the speaker magnets, because you won't be able to wipe them off. Cling wrap and duct tape worked ok. I also decided to keep the oem quick release connector. I ripped it off the old speaker, and soldered the existing leads to the new speaker terminals. Like I said, more work than I was expecting, but the price was fair, the speakers sound fine up to levels where I have to question the clarity coming out of the deck (it's a cheap JVC), and there are no height or depth clearance issues (my biggest concern with the door speakers. 4 stars because I don't like to give 5 unless something exceeds my expectations. Also, I ordered these from a seller on the Amazon marketplace whose name eludes me, but they shipped FedEx for less than $5 (maybe free, can't remember... total price ~$33), and the speakers showed up on my doorstep on a saturday, 3 full days before the early end of the delivery estimate.     • I can or at least did like a car audio system to really rock
Took my time to do this review. I wanted to live with the speakers for a while before reviewing them. Anyway, here goes nothing. I've been to a few rock concerts in the 80's saw the Who front and center and probably did damage some hearing in a friends Trans Am, but that said, I can or at least did like a car audio system to really rock. I was not really looking for that kind of an upgrade but the OE speakers in my Chevy Equinox where blown when I got it used and I finally decided to get these to upgrade. I do have XM radio in the vehicle so the signal is clean and these speakers really sound great. The car has a separate base woofer in the rear (again factory) but premium so I didn't need a lot of base from these. They do have good base but the mid and top seem to be the better sound for me. Although they will rattle anything that I have in the door pockets that's plastic so they're putting some base out. They're low in the vehicle so it's tough to be sure about the base. Either way, I am quite happy with the combo of the GM radio and prem. system with these speakers in all 4 doors. Sounds great. Would recommend. ... show more

    • PYLE... They are ok, but do have some negatives!
I purchased the PLG 6.4, 4 way speakers, as an upgrade for camper. I was upgrading from the stock 5 1/4", co-axial speaker pair to these 6.5", 4 way speakers. Which are actually 3 ways, with 2 small tweeters. Installation was a bit odd and time consuming because the speaker pair did not come with a set of mounting instructions. But I was able to set the speakers into the plastic base of the speaker grill. This way, raised the speaker depth just enough to allow the wider basket to be mounted into the original 5 1/4" hole. The negative of these speakers is that the Mid / Tweeter tower is higher than the speaker grill is made for. So when the grill was put in place it will not fit, and stay in place good enough. I had add some extra tar strips (from my tool box) to the base plate, bent the grills around (just a little bit) and this helped keep the grills onto the base plate. As far as the sound quality - they sound good. Crisp and clean. The Bass is marginal, and more of a Mid/Bass speaker. Even with no amplifier, they did start to max out on the stock "Jensen, 35 watt" stereo. I don't think they would survive anything near 300 Watts, as stated. But, for an upgrade of our stock speakers, they sound great in a large camper, so I am happy....Until the speaker grills fall off?! Color: Negative- The advertised color is a bright yellow. The basket is bright yellow, and the plastic cone was more of a "Spicy Mustard" yellow. It has specks of brown in it. It looks okay behind the speaker grill, but was not what I wanted. I do recommend these speakers, based off of the low price, good sound quality , and durable construction (plastic cone, and rubber surround). The Chinese people who produce these speakers, should be made to install and test them. If you are looking for competition speakers, this is not a good choice. If your looking for a mid priced upgrade, or replacements for your stock auto speakers, these are a good choice! ... show more
