  • Wonderful country
If you like country, you'll love any cd recorded by Josh Turner. I'm just sorry I didn't hear his music sooner.

  • Real Country Music
I am a big Josh Turner fan, have been since "Long Black Train" was released to radio. I own all of his albums. With that being said, this is a great album! It is real, honest country music. If you are looking for fiddle, steel guitar, banjo, mandolin, and a guy with a huge, powerful voice, than Josh Turner is "your man". I love all of the tracks on this, and I do not skip any of them. My favorite though, would definitely have to be "Pallbearer". WOW, what an incredible song. I mean it is perfect. My second favorite would be "For the love of God." But overall this entire album is winners. Any of these songs could be cut to radio. Thank you Josh for making real country music. If you are looking for artists similar to Josh, I would recommend Chris Young and Easton Corbin. ... show more

  • you should get this one
I really love this album! Its real country music from the heart! I think this is my favorite album of his; its just one great song after another. "Time is love" is perfect (I played this one for months on replay), "Cold shoulder" is classic, great country music, "For the love of God" and "I was there" are beautiful songs of faith. This is an all around great album! ... show more

  • Good CD from a great talent...could have some better song choices though.
Like a few others mentioned, Josh could have chose some better songs. The guy has a great voice, but I just didn't enjoy all the songs. Though some are real good. And yes...I don't know why he put on that intro lol. I think my favorite is "I Was There" really solid nicely put together gospel song. Another one I really liked was "Cold Shoulder" nice broken-hearted old-school country song. ... show more

  • We just love Josh Turner!
I am a big fan of Josh, since I saw him singing Black Long Train on TV for the first time. I bought that CD in the same day and heard as many times I drove my car. I was pregnant with my first daughter then. So I believe she started loving him since then too! lol My girls and I, love almost all his songs. My girls play this CD, over and over. ... show more

  • Great Voice But Josh Needs the Taste Police
I'm a fan of Josh Turner and own all of his CDs. I think he has the best male voice in his generation of country music singers. That said, he is also a very inconsistent songwriter and that problem, to varying degrees, mars each of his albums. He is also so successful now that I think there's increasing evidence that nobody around him ever says, "Josh, I think that's a stupid idea." Who would think that ridiculous introduction about how much testosterone he possesses was a good idea? Also, including your wife and very small children "singing" with you is probably never a good idea. OK, we get it - you're straight, happily married, and have little children you love. Great, but do you think your fans really want to hear your children gurgling in the middle of your album? The startlingly beautiful exception in this generally weak release is the sublime "Pallbearer," for which he is listed as the sole writer. Honestly, it's worth $10 just for this song. Of course, it's followed by the god-awful "For the Love of God," which he also wrote, which is so hokey it could be used as a parody of a religious country song. I'm still a fan, but I really hope his next release reflects more of the artistry he's clearly capable of demonstrating. ... show more
