I liked everything about this umbrella until the wind blew it off my golf cart and it hit the ground. It was portable, had a large canopy and it was easy to open and also had a sturdy feel to it. While playing golf in light rain, a wind gust lifted it off my golf cart. When the umbrella hit the ground one of the spines snapped at the plastic hinge and the damage was unrepairable. This umbrella provides a lot of shade. I wanted to be able to sit at an outdoor concert and have shade even as the sun shifted. This works very well. The top cover is made in two panels, which I think helps it flex rather than just stretch. The center poles are hex-tubing, which helps provide rigidity and strength. The opening is spring powered, released by a button on the handle. When closed, it has two wrap-around straps, top and bottom. And then there's a slide-over cover that includes a longer strap handle This is a big umbrella. It is not lightweight, but then it can't be and also be durable. I think for use to keep the sun off, rather than just rain, it's a good design, and a good compromise between size and portability. ... show more
