I have been using these bar ends for over a month now and am very pleased with them. The Profile Designs bar ends were very easy to install, are sturdy, lightweight, and offer me greater hand placement versatility while out riding. Formerly I was using the factory installed ergo handles, which had a short (2 inch?) bar end. The handles were, in fact, very comfortable. However the short bar extension, while not nearly long enough, had already broken - I suspect it was plastic rib inside the rubber nub. I really wanted something that was sturdy, reasonably lightweight, and offered ergonomic grip options. The Profile Designs bar ends fit the bill nicely. While I liked the new ergonomics with the bar ends I added handlebar tape for increased comfort. Also, pro tip: I double-wrapped the straight handlebar section between the shifters and the bar ends. These bar ends are sturdy, lightweight, comfortable, and allow me to relax my shoulders and elbows a bit when I'm out for the Sunday morning coffee ride. ... show more

These have a good angle, and length to help you set more up right. I talked them to a normal snug feeling, and they have not moved at all. They look good and feel solid.

I’m a heavy guy, so leaning forward and putting all my weight on my hands and wrists becomes uncomfortable and causes numbness really quick. So I bought these so I can sit in a more upright position taking the weight off my hands and wrists. I added some bar tape for more cushion and it made all the difference in my 5 mile ride today. Only takes a few seconds to install. I did have to cut the rubber handlebar grips to make room for the bar extension. Got these ti use on Grandmas wheelchair. I set the chair in the lowrider posituon so she could walk herself around easier. The problem was that when I was pushing her through the store etc, I was bent over and it was killing my back. Used these as extensions and problem solved. I'm using these on a touring hybrid with flat bars. The handlebars themselves need to be low enough to provide stability on high speed descents. My best rides run 35-50 miles and that used to lead to a lot of neck pain. These bar ends are long enough to make a huge difference. I use them on level or uphill stretches so that I can work out my neck muscles. Update after two and a half years of ownership: I've recently purchased an ebike for my wife. Unfortunately, Profile Designs doesn't offer their bar ends in blue to match the color of her new bike. So I ordered a pair of the Fifty-Fifty bar ends (blue) that are also sold here on Amazon. The Fifty-Fifty product looked great in the photos, but it turned out to be a full two inches shorter than these Profile Design bar ends. That shortness eliminates the part of the bar end that I hold onto to climb hills. I've returned the Fifty-Fifty bar ends immediately and ordered a second pair of Profile Design. ... show more

Bought this for a bike tour cause I had flat bars and stupid grips. It was an absolute necessity and worked great for my trip, actually took the grips off completely and wrapped about 1.5-2 feet of grip tape around the whole thing, from the shifters to the tips of the bar ends This way I was able to use at least three positions that kept my hands from going numb, basic bar grip, outside at the corners grip, and then a top grip on the bent part of the bar ends at the top. Definitely light material and on a 1200 mile use so far on that tour have not moved a mm since I installed them. Very happy that I bought these. I have normal sized hands and I can say they were bigger than I needed, in fact they really stick up and almost look intimidating to get hit with, they give the bike a more aggressive look. I'm posting a pic to show what you can do, I wrapped the tape around the whole corner, it wasn't perfect but it did work as a grip and didn't move, I'll redo it later, the duct/electrical tape in the pic is like that cause this was a modification on the road, I had already done the tape at the top and was running out. ... show more
