  • WORKED GREAT!
So, you may not think this turned out great, but considering the situation, I think it's great! This was about a 6 inch long gash, split, or rip (whatever you want to call it) in hubby's car seat. The seat is not flat, and the gash was on the angled side of the seat, near the seam, in a very awkward place to access to do the repair. I had to stand outside the car, lean over the seat, and push down on the side edge of the seat, to be able to see the gash and attempt the repair. (Ouch, my poor back!) The gash only went through the top layer of the faux leather, but not through the bottom layer of fabric. So there was no way to add backing material before doing the repair. AND, the "frayed" edges of the top layer of faux leather had about 1/16 th of an inch of jagged edges, sticking up along both edges of the gash. Ugh. After trying to trim off all the jagged edges, using 4 different pairs of scissors, and because of the awkward angle and position of the gash on the seat, I just could not get the scissors close enough to remove hardly any of the tiny jagged edges. I wanted to try a razor blade, but hubby wasn't crazy about that idea, so I left all of the remaining jagged edges. This meant having to apply the vinyl repair liquid under the jagged edges to try to "glue" them down, then filling in the remaining "hole, slash, gash" with more of the repair liquid. Per the instructions, I tried to use thin layers of the liquid, rather than flooding the gash with the liquid. I did not use the brush, I only used the little spatula. I smoothed out the liquid as best as I could, dabbed off the edges with a wet Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Let it "dry" for an hour then looked at it. It was starting to "repair" the gash. I added another layer of the repair liquid. I just dabbed small amounts along the gash straight out of the tube, then smoothed it out again with the spatula, and dabbed the edges again. I did this a total of 5 times, waiting an hour between each layer of liquid. Each time, it was looking better. Obviously, it is NOT an invisible repair, because I could not remove the jagged edges of torn "leather". And, the final repair was kind of lumpy. So, I then used a piece of sandpaper to rub over the bumps which did smooth it out some what better, and added 1 final coat/layer of the repair liquid, dabbing or blending the edges and removing any excess liquid around the edges with a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol. I had given up on Q-tips after the first couple of layers of repair liquid. Knowing that I had already ordered a bottom seat cover (arriving the next day), I was ok with how it turned out. Even without the seat cover, I would be ok with this repair the way it turned out. The repair liquid dries to feel just like the original seat fabric / faux leather. So, even though the repair is not invisible, I don't blame the repair kit, that's mostly because I couldn't remove the jagged edges of fabric. And what is most important, at least hubby won't be continuing to rip the seat. And if he does, I still have plenty of repair liquid to fix it! After all the layers I did, I still have nearly a full tube of black liquid left, and never had to open the second tube of black. I never used the tube of white liquid. I did wipe the spatula with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel between each application. THANKS for this awesome product! It took a few hours to complete the repair, but it sure was a lot cheaper than having the seat recovered! ... show more

  • Works pretty good!
Never used this sort of solution but had multiple leather tears in two vehicles. One was a triangle type tear from a kids soccer cleat, another couple were long straight tears along the driver side seat and finally one was a golfball size missing fabric. I was really impressed how easy this stuff was to work with. I did three coats, allowing each to dry overnight and making sure not to overdo it. For the first two types of tears, it worked perfectly and I would say better than using a “tape” product. The black matched the black leather seats well enough that it blends in well from a few feet away. Definitely a big improvement. For the golfball size hole, it is unrealistic for this type of product to work well. This particular seat has the foam and leather attached together so you can’t slide fabric underneath the leather to make a better covering, otherwise it might actually work. Still, once the liquid is dried, it covered the opening, provides better protection than nothing and less noticeable. ... show more

  • Works great
Was looking for something to repair our dining room chairs, and this was super easy and worked great. It’s still holding up to 5 kids after 1 week in.

  • Works well take-your timsuggestionsggestions
Does the job but I have a suggestion to make. While using on a small burn mark not a hole but an indent to fill in. After using and it dries I used rubbing alcohole to even out and dull the shine a bit. It took me several attempts due to the material has a texture a grain pattern little bumps like. The repair was flat no texture and stood out big time. I a small 16 gage wire stripped one end and would dab the copper wire in the product and lightly dab on mixture making high and low spots in repair area for texture. But the real fix would be if they added some small naugahyde pieces of material with different texture patterns or buy some patches maybe and apply material let it get tackey then place material grain side facing repair area lightly press down and leave alone about an hour peel off and it will leave the pattern on repaired area let dry 5 more hours buff with clean cloth and rubbng alcohol until flush with existing area around repair I did this before with a different kit and just repaired my mercedes black passenger seat not the back rest area the seat and dead center it happened 1 week before turning in my 3 year lease the only damage, but never seen a solid repair and no big seat repair cost. Trick take your time and get naugahyde to create a pattern. I left message for the manufacture on adding various small textured naugahyde pieces in there kits. Good luck ... show more

Love the product. You do need to be careful with the white fill material but it works absolutely perfectly. I colored it with the white fill material and the color sent. It took 1 try and you cannot tell what was repaired. My issue was a small area but wow great product. It works as I hoped it would. ... show more
