I have been using prodigy glucose meters for many many years. They are accurate obviously to a certain degree. I have compared blood test at the same time I have had blood test done at a lab with a blood sample right from a drop where my blood sample was taken from and results are not that far apart. The only 2 negative things I could tell you about my prodigy glucose meter is that in 2021 this device is not Bluetooth enabled to instantly drop data results into a App. You can easily find Bluetooth enabled glucose meters but their test strips are 2-3 times the price and when you have to check several times a day that does make a difference in monthly expenses. It also requires a little bit more blood to do the test but that for me doesn’t matter because I already pricked my finger with the lancet device so it’s just a little bit more of a squeeze and that’s it. At the end of the day, everything is up to you! There’s so many devices out there so you just have to find the one you feel more comfortable with. Durability, many years. Battery consumption, several years. Easy to use, very easy. Price for test strips, on eBay I find 50 strips for 5–6 dollars so I normally just buy 500 strips at a time. Why did I replace my previous machine? I was upset and I threw it against the wall… No glucose meter survives that 🤣🤣😇 41yrs living with T1D! ... show more

Rule thumb when buying these meters, look for the most economical refills. All these Metters are made of cheap stuff and these companies make a ton of money selling you the expensive refills.

I am being treated for type 2 diabetes, since Spring of 2018. I have been using my original Prodigy AutoCode, Blood Glucose Monitoring System for 2 1/2 years. November 10, 2020 my meter would still read properly, but then went immediately into setup / learning mode after the correct analysis was displayed for a split second. Which meant after each reading I would have to remove the back cover and enter the correct information. . So I ordered a replacement Prodigty AutoCode glucose monitor from Amazon, on the same day, I received my new replacement meter the very next day, Wednesday, November 11, 2020. The reason I needed a quick delivery was that I am now on Insulin and require accurate reading prior to administering my insulin shot. When I went to register my replcement meter fo warranty, I discovered that it has a limited Lifetime Warranty. I will be contacting the manufacturer about replacing or repairing my original Prodigy. Follow up on Prodigy customer service telephone call. Conclusion: They are sending me a free replacement glucose meter. This way I will have a backup on hand. Thank you Prodigy! November 18, 2020 I received my replacement meter from Prodigy, I used Prodigy control Solution Low for a new capillary blood test strips and it registered @ 55 mg/dl midway between my two ranges 35-85 mg/dl printed on my new container of test strips. ... show more
