I was looking for a dairy free and peanut free protein bar. These checked those boxes! Taste Well above average as far as protein bar taste. Sweetness is good and can taste all the ingredients. Probably could do with a little less sugar. It tastes like a candy bar. Texture Bar is clean to eat and hard enough where the pieces don't fall on your lap. It might be too hard which is a drawback. It can cause teeth pain biting into this bar. That is the reason I stopped buying this, because I'm afraid of damaging a tooth. Protein content For a plant basted protein bar, this is high at 20 grams. You could get more by adding ingredients but that would make the flavor suffer. I ordered a box of ProBar mint chocolate from Amazon on September 20, 2022 for an upcoming bicycle tour. They were delivered very quickly. Good job, Amazon. Because I have never tasted any of the ProBar line, I opened one to see how good they are. I could not even bite into the bar because it was so hard. So, I used a very sharp kitchen knife to cut into it. Even then, I could only cut off small slices. I checked the expiration date and it was APR 03 2023. So, no issue because of the product being past the expiration date. I also had ordered a box of the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip ProBar. These were easy to bite into the bar, which I expected. This ProBar was also tasty like the mint chocolate. I have contacted the company via email to see if the mint chocolate bars are supposed to be so hard. I doubt it, but if so, wow! I will never order these again. I thought I had hard teeth, but certainly will not try to bite into another one. UPDATE: Wyatt from ProBar reached out to me this morning via e-mail. He stated that because I purchased their product through Amazon instead of directly from them, then they are able to compensate me for any issue that I have. The cookie dough one is meh, the mint chocolate pretty good, the chocolate brownie one is delicious, great texture. Real sugar, and not too too much of it. I absolutely love Probars, especially when they have a good Amazon price point. The cookie dough tends to be my favorite flavor, but as other reviewers have noted, I would not order these from June-Sept. because if they have sat in a hot warehouse, a delivery truck in the sun, or been left in a mailbox/on your porch for an hour or two, or any combination of the above, what you will get is a re-solidified brick instead of the soft and delicious probar I have grown to love. My last few orders have been hard and show signs of melt, even when I made sure to get my Amazon package right when it was delivered.
