They are softer than those old hard things that just break after begrudgingly giving a smidge of color. Pretty, blendable and just lovely. I now have a reason to doodle/journal/play/create and isn't that what it is all about. Ease of creativity. No begging of the pencils, Y'all.

    • Was expecting more pigment
These are lovely pencils for white and tan papers, very smooth and blend-able. However they are not great for black paper which is my chosen medium- I love a high contrast pigment on black paper. Tried pinching pennies and saving a bit on these and they are not professional level pencils. I’ll continue to use them for art on light toned papers but am disappointed that they don’t pop as expected on black paper. I tested every color in my black sketchbook and the only one that stood out was the silver pencil. If all of them had pigment levels like that one this would be a five star review. If you like to draw high contrast colorful art on black paper, I’d consider another option! ... show more
