  • My bucket list horn
Good value for the price paid. I searched the internet and three local music stores to find a practicable instrument I could buy to satisfy my bucket list after a fifty-year hiatus from playing in the school band and several years in drum & bugle corps. This horn like most other student instruments are made in China. They don't hold a candle to the student instruments made by several manufactures in this country up through the 1960's. If you find a good one, buy it. I saw used ones with dings and scratches being offered in music stores for the same price I paid new. Conn-Selmer is an American company and I think likely the horn was made to their specifications. They have a reputation to maintain and they do give you a one year warranty with readily available parts for any repairs needed for many years. I don't think you can say that for the vast majority of off-brand instruments being sold in most discount stores and on eBay. ... show more

  • My daughter loves it.
Color: MultiColored
Bought as a beginner trumpet for middle school band. It's a Conn-Selmer, quality seems more than fair.had to also buy a 5B mouthpiece separate since that's what her school wanted. She is consistently praised for having excellent tone, in the top 25% of her class, so it's status as a "beginner" instrument doesn't seem to hold her back against the other $1200 "Student" grade horns. The case is decent. It has shoulder straps to make carrying it easier, but it lacks a significant amount of storing space inside for things like cleaning and maintenance supplies. We had to arrange everything like a puzzle to get all her things to fit. *READ THE INSTRUCTION SHEET* The valve pistons and cylinders need to be broken in. Mainly consists of having to clean the valves and pistons every day (of use) for a month to clean out the metal debris . Early on valves were not behaving super smooth, valve 2 on ours was a tiny bit slower to spring back up. After about 1-2 months it cleared up and now the valves perform beautifully. ... show more

  • Great horn.
Color: MultiColored
Great trumpet for the price. My son had borrowed his Aunt's trumpet when he started playing. When he showed he was taking band serious and practicing enough, we decided to buy him his first trumpet. His music teachers all say this is a good trumpet, and his tone quality has instantly improved. I find he is practicing more as well, because he likes having his own new trumpet. The valves work great, the tuner slides work great. It has a nice shine, and it sounds good. We know it is an entry level trumpet and not a pro line at all, but it just looks and plays better than other trumpets at a similar price point that we tested. Do not be afraid to buy this for a young band member. ... show more

  • NOT a BACH piece of equipment as was stated!!
Contrary to the description of a Bach Prelude - it is not a Bach piece of equipment. I have had to take it in a couple times for repairs and have been told it is an off brand. Had I known that it was not a Bach as stated, I really wouldn't have bought it. I thought we were getting a low end Bach. Needless to say, we are looking at upgrading and wished we hadn't wasted our money on this and had put it towards a true Bach instrument. It was a good thing we purchased the extended warranty. We've been told it was ok for a beginner student but I don't think it is for even a beginner as the depressing the buttons between this model and a more expensive type are extremely noticeable. If someone is learning to play why would you want something that is harder to respond to your touch - you really wouldn't. Take my advice and go with the more expensive models especially ones that are offered from your child's school. ... show more

  • AMAZING. Best trumpet one Amazon I would say.
Color: MultiColored
I have 3 trumpets from amazon. Medini, eastrock, and this one. all of them are nice but this one is AMAZING. I love how effortless the slide is to use. The sound is better then more expensive trrumpets of high pricepoints. the valves work good for a beginner to novice. I am so glad! attractive instrument too. I am in love! ... show more

  • Good beginner trumpet
We got this trumpet for our son who is just starting to learn trumpet in school. It is a lot better than the rental trumpet he started out with (it had sticky valves). So far he is very happy with this one. Only minor comments is that the trumpet comes with a soft case and the valve oil that was sent with the trumpet came in a plastic container that got crushed and leaked during transit. ... show more

  • So far so good
Bought this for a Junior High band instrument for my son. So far it is working out well. The package arrived intact. The price was much better than I could find anywhere else. It does come with a mouthpiece but I wish you could request a specific size. The mouthpiece that came with this instrument was not the right size for my son so I had to go out and buy another. ... show more

  • Don't buy this trumpet and don't buy anything from this company
This has to be the worst company I have ever purchased anything from. The trumpet did come as promised. It is very nice looking. The rebate took almost 3 months to get to me and then instead of a check, they sent a prepaid credit card. Second, and most important, we have had problems with this item. The valves stick and click when in use. When I contacted the company and asked about any warranty, they told me to look at the warranty card. What service is that? If I had a warranty card, I wouldn't have to contact them. We finally had to have the valves repaired at a local music store - they needed different felt pads installed. Please, buy from someone else, these guys are not honest and have zero (0) customer service. Never, never, never again. ... show more
