Description

Introducing the Table Saw Sled Kit by POWERTEC.This table saw sled system is perfect for making small cuts, cross cuts and repetitive length cuts, which is where table saw crosscut sleds perform. It is designed to stabilize your work piece and is accurate, as they are essentially calibrated to your saw during the sled construction process. Each track is cut to length for the perfect sub-fence on the cross-cut sled. The included knob and bolt are designed to help you create a simple stop block that can slide the length of the two tracks along the back and front fence. HDPE miter bars are ideal for cross-cut sleds and other accessories. Won't swell or shrink with the change of seasons or with moisture.Avoid risking your limb when crosscutting smaller pieces with a crosscut sled you specifically calibrate with your table saw. • Excellent table saw sled
Size: Table Saw Sled Kit
My husband can't say enough good things about this table saw sled! It has revolutionized his woodworking projects. The precision and accuracy it offers are exceptional. He can make clean and precise cuts with ease, and it enhances the safety of his work as well. The sled is sturdy and well-crafted, making it a reliable tool in our workshop. We appreciate the time and effort it saves him on every project, and we highly recommend it to any woodworker looking to improve their craftsmanship. ... show more

  • you need one of those if you ust bought a tablesaw
Size: Table Saw Sled Kit
The set came with clear instructions and with the more specialized parts (miter bars and screws) -- you supply and cut the rest, namely a piece of plywood. The T-track and knob are not strictly necessary (you can set up a stop block with a leftover block of wood and any C clamp), but useful all the same. The price is very reasonable. The instructions are very clear and helpful. For beginners on a table saw, they also give an example of how to make sure that any jig you build (and, by extension, your future projects) will provide the same level of precision as your table saw -- a good introduction to the world of woodworking. To make use of this kit, you'll need a tablesaw, a 2'x2' or 2'x4' piece of sanded 1/2" or 3/4" plywood (what big box stores call "project panels"). Highly recommended to any beginner -- anyone progressing beyond that stage will already have a few sleds for crosscuts, 45deg bevels, finger joints, etc. ... show more

  • Not for Craftsman contractor saw
Size: Small Parts Tapering Jig
I can confirm this does not fit the craftsman contractor saw. The table saw guides top lip prevents the slider from fitting. I will have to return this and maybe make my own jig. However this appears to be well made and fully functional for certain tables most like those with standard rails.

  • Great for sleds
Size: Table Saw Sled Kit
Used this set with some other Powertec bits to create a couple of sleds for my table saw. The runners are great and perfectly sized. The T-track is great and easy enough to cut with carbide blades (just take it slow to prevent overheating). Yes, I could have made these things myself from hardwood, but this is easier, more accurate, and lets me spend a few bucks to save a lot of my time. ... show more

  • It's OK
Size: Table Saw Sled Kit with Blade Guard
The first issue is that the plastic bars are over sized by .010 of an inch requiring sanding to fit; the instructions say to use flat head screws to mount them. Using flat head screws douse not alow for fine adjustment in the event of less than ferfect square of your cuts. It is better to use #8 round head screws, drill to a depth of the head of the screw with a 3/8 Brad point drill and finish with a drill size not more than 1/32 over the screw diameter, this will alow for fine adjustment. My cuts are perfect. I also used a white laminated particle board redaly available at home depot 24 X 24 supper flat, slippery and inexpensive. Good luck 😁 ... show more

  • Great product
This item was easy to install and with two adjustable knobs it was easy to adjust so it rides parallel with the rip fence. It holds the item being cut snug against the rip fence thus helping prevent kick back. Highly recommend this product. Powertec made it simple but effective. Thanks

  • Included Manual Leaves Out Important Step
Size: Table Saw Sled Kit with Blade Guard
I like the product overall. The components provided were very good quality overall. However, the manual that is included needs some improvements, hence I gave the product a 4-star rather than 5-star rating. The manual leaves out one important step. Nowhere in the instructions does it indicate that you should also cut a kerf through the Front Fence. This step is logical but not indicated in the instructions. The pictures showing how to install the Back Fence show the kerf cut for that step stopping short of the end of the base, which is logical. But when you arrive at Figure 16 ("The Sled is Ready to Use"), a kerf through the Front Fence magically appears with no prior instructions to cut it. Admittedly, this can be easily done before using the saw sled for the first time. However, showing that step in the instructions is recommended. One other tip that could be included in the manual in the "Crosscut Sled Base" section to avoid a major mistake. To complete the sled according to the instructions, the tracks on your table saw where the HDPE bars slide must be EQU-DISTANT from the saw blade. My older Craftsman table saw's tracks are different distances from the blade. It means that in the instruction "Crosscut Sled", I could not use a center line for the kerf cut as shown in Figure 9. Granted, there is a general warning on the first page about adjusting the dimensions for the purchaser’s design or requirements. I noticed this early on and made necessary adjustments. However, another warning in the “Install the Back Fence” instruction section that the location of the kerf line to be cut might differ based on the purchaser’s table saw tracks if they are not equidistance from the blade. ... show more
