  • Love It Already!
Color: Wireless Pokemon Pikachu Style: Wireless GameCube Style Controller
I just received this today and I got lucky enough to find this for $25! I had to check twice to make sure it was the WIRELESS edition! It's perfect because it matches my switch well, and brings back my nostalgia for the gamecube! Besides aesthetics, the controller feels well made. It is a little on the lighter side, but that is a plus for me. Be aware there is no HD rumble, IR or amiibo support, so if that is important to you, especially if you are paying full price, this probably isn't the controller for you. It doesn't bother me though. It at least has motion controls which I use occasionally in games, although I haven't tested it on this controller yet. Buttons feel good to press and are very responsive and easy to use. The c-stick took some getting used to since it is smaller than the native switch joy sticks, especially since I had thumb grips on my switch lite(as you can see in the picture). Again, I got used to it really quickly despite haven't having used a gamecube controller in over 10 years. My only gripe is the minus button is in an awkward spot. I kind of either have to stretch my right thumb pretty far out to reach it or deal with my left thumb "bumping" into the left joy stick. It's nothing big though since it's not essential to gameplay, it's just a minor inconvenience I noticed. In terms of actual playability, I want to emphasize that I do not play smash bros, but I do play competitive battle royals like fortnite! I was concerned it would dampen the playability but it actually feels better than the onboard controls once I got used to its placement differences. I am also happy it came with batteries and was easy to connect. It also wakes up the switch with any button press after you have already connected it the first time, which is a nice feature. I will update this review after a few months of play, but for $25, unless this thing were to malfunction I honestly can't complain. Definetly regret not buying another one as a backup. ... show more

  • It's a beefed up GC controller!
Color: Wireless Black Style: Wireless GameCube Style Controller
To start off it feels great, exactly like a Gamecube controller, same quality feel and grip. The face buttons are nice and clicky, the left analog stick feels a tad smaller, and the now R and L buttons that was just a Z button feel bigger and nicer than the super small original Z shoulder button. The big grey shoulder buttons are now ZL and ZR which have been reduced in size a good bit and also are only digital now, so they don't feel quite as nice as the original GC design. Also the D-pad is larger and nicer feeling. The C-stick is the only thing I'm disappointed with, it has no grip on it like the Nintendo GC one, it's just a hard plastic that doesn't work all that great for games that need precise aim. It also might be a little more resistant, but the original GC sticks were pretty damn resistant as well. That's really my only con. Tested it with Windows 10 bluetooth and it synced up real fast, worked perfectly fine with the Dolphin emulator, so that's a big plus. If you've always liked the GC controller get this thing, it's worth it. Hoping it lasts a long time. Update: The analog stick on PC isn't working quite right. Holding the stick all the way to one side doesn't fully register so when playing some games turning is slow or doesn't even work at all in some menus. I attached a picture of the properties. A firmware update could fix this issue though. ... show more

  • Really Nice Gamecube Style pro controller for switch
Color: Wireless Pokemon Umbreon Style: Wireless GameCube Style Controller
Let me just say I love this controller, not only does it look cool with the umbreon black but it has everything that I want in a controller. I grew up on the gamecube so for me this felt like the closest to an OG gamecube controller. It has a decent build quality but it's not perfect. One gripe i have with the controller is the shoulder buttons. Now they arent a huge deal but they do have some travel to them. For super smash bros it does sort of affect gameplay but if you get used to it its not a big deal. For me i came from playing smash with the PDP fightpad which have buttons for shoulder buttons so it did take getting use to this controller. The travel on the shoulder buttons arent nearly as bad as the older model of this controller. This is definitely more updated and better. Another thing that people might not like is that it takes 2 AA batteries. It comes with them in the box but some people might not like the fact that it takes batteries. What I love is that powerA gives you a warranty on their website. All you have to do is register your controller once you get it. Overall one month and this controller is always my Go to for most the games i play. In case you guys were curious, the games I play with this controller are: pokemon sword and shield, stardew valley, mario maker 2, super mario odyssey. This controller works great for those games. I would not recomment this controller for any shooters, but any other 2D and some 3D games i think that this controller works great. It is an good deal especially if you can get it on sale. Its not for everyone but if you grew up on gamecube and want a gamecube feel for your games this is amazing. ... show more
