First, let's get the only negatives out of the way. I've gone through 3 sets of batteries since I've bought this controller. Obviously it depends on how frequent of a player you are but that's one set per month for me as I play about 4 or so hours on Saturdays and Sundays it comes out to around 30 hours for one set of batteries give or take from my experience. Not too bad, for what I need so no complaints there although if you play more often I highly recommend some rechargeable AA's since this controller does not yet (or maybe ever?) have a rechargeable pack and won't fit one. I have no issue with this quirk so my review stays at five stars. It also has no vibration but I don't play with controller vibration on anyway so it doesn't bother me. I guess it'd be a nice feature to have for those who do though. The pros? The controller itself feels great. Unfortunately this was my first Switch Pro styled controller so I can't compare it to the Nintendo in-house controller but the plastic doesn't feel cheap at all so I don't feel like it would break if I accidentally dropped it a couple times. I would compare it to the kind of plastic that Nintendo uses for the re-release GameCube controller. It's solid. It's also honestly the perfect weight for me once the batteries are in which I was quite surprised by. Heavy enough to where you feel confident it's a sturdy product but light enough to not really notice that you're using it while playing. Everything feels great, the buttons, the joysticks, I have had no problems in my three or so months owning this controller. I bought this so I wouldn't have to deal with the god-awful joycon drift and it has not had any problems as of yet. The sticks are really snappy. The bumper buttons on the back, while I don't use nearly as much as I do on my Xbox Elite controller they're very convenient to use for the games I play (Breath of the Wild & Pokemon). Easy to program. This controller does have gyro controls and I like it 100 times better the the joycons. It feels natural and not overly sensitive, twitch once and you're halfway across the screen, like joycons do. It made the gyro puzzles on BotW much easier and I had a lot of fun using it for New Pokemon Snap. I was actually really impressed when you remember that it's a third-party controller. The last thing and the cherry on top is the variety of colors and designs. There seems to be something for most people, which is great! I mean there's not much to say about that. Overall, since Amazon doesn't do in between ratings I'd say this controller is a solid 4.5 for the average consumer and personally a 4.7 or 8. The media could not be loaded. I really needed a controller to use for my Switch, as holding the entire console for any extended gaming hurts my hands. I was going to get an adapter to just use my Xbox controller, but I sold my Xbox so I turned to PowerA. It paired quickly to the switch [Home screen > Controllers > Change grip/order > Press the sync button on the controller > once it shows up, press A] and worked great in game. I also really needed a controller that would pair to Steam on my PC as well, because some games I play I really just prefer having a controller. There were some mixed reports about this working with Steam, so I took a gamble since it was only $35. It works, but you will need to reconnect it to your PC with bluetooth, and then select the controller in Steam every time it seems. To do so, follow these steps- Turn bluetooth ON for your PC > On the controller, press and hold the Sync button > on your PC, click "Add bluetooth or other device" > Select "Bluetooth, mice, pens, or audio" > Select the device. It shows up as a Pro Controller > Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > Select "Switch Pro Configuration Support" > The controller should show at the bottom, select it > Play games comfortably!! When it's successfully paired, you can exit the controller settings, and open games normally through steam, or go through the Big Picture mode and start them. As long as the controller stays on, then it will automatically connect to games and you can just pick it up and start moving with analog sticks rather than WASD. You can also select to use Nintendo button layout, otherwise it'll default to Xbox layout. I prefer the Nintendo layout, so I have mine selected but this is completely optional. As for the build quality, it feels cheap, I'm not gonna lie. But it was like half the price of any other controller on the market, does the same thing, and looks a bit more cute in my opinion. Even with batteries, the controller is super lightweight. To some this might be a negative, because it does feel nice to have a sturdy controller, but I actually like that it's so cheap and lightweight since that puts less strain on my hands during lengthy game sessions. ... show more
