Features

  • This is NOT a data blocker, see PortaPow's other products if that is what you need
  • This a USB-A male to female adaptor which has the D+, D- and 0V connected but the 5V disconnected, so power cannot pass through.
  • Useful for specialist applications such as 3D Printers and Raspberry Pi where providing power results in undesirable effects
  • Note that blocking charge/power will also prevent data transfer for smartphones, tablets and many other devices, so this device will not be useful in those cases.
  • Extra Value Twin Pack. Supports USB 2.0 Data Transfer.

  • Great for connecting my Ender 3 to a Pi running OctoPrint!
Size: 2
I always disliked having my Pi Zero 2 W backpower my Ender 3 when I had turned the printer off, and this solved that issue quick and easy. Same deal with a 3018 Pro CNC. It’s a simple fix and probably wildly overpriced for what it is, but no fuss and it just works!

  • Essential Protection for Your Devices!
Size: 2
I recently started using the PortaPow USB Power Blocker with my micro USB cable for my 3D printer, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer! This little gadget does an excellent job of preventing my printer from pulling too much power from my sonic pad, which could potentially damage it. It stops charging while still allowing data transfer, ensuring that my devices stay safe and sound. Installation was a breeze - I simply plugged it in between my printer and the sonic pad, and it started working right away. Plus, it's super compact, so it doesn't take up much space. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with the PortaPow USB Power Blocker. It's a simple yet effective solution that gives me peace of mind knowing that my devices are protected. Five stars from me! ... show more

  • works as described. feels durable
Size: 2
It's exactly what it says. I used this between a Raspberry Pi and my 3d printer to prevent power from feeding into the printer from the Pi. Also used it between a SonicPad and a different 3d printer. Worked perfectly in both cases.

  • Dose what it says.
Size: 2
I want to power some usb devices via a powered hub but don't want the extra delay with devices going thru a hub so I got this with a usb Y cable so all the power is fed by the usb hub and the data goes to the motherboard usb ports. Also I'm worried about pulling too much power from the usb ports, this fixes that. ... show more

  • Works, but NOT for **Schiit DACs**
Size: 2
This product works as intended for blocking power on the usb, but did not work with the products I had wanted to use it with. But I was impressed with the how sturdy the build quality of this is. I own a Schiit Modius and Bifrost (gen 3 usb), both devices are recognized via usb with this device, but would not output anything. Both devices had independent power of the computers usb. The problem I wanted to solve is either EMI noise or a usb ground loop from a high power gaming computer. When either dac is connected via usb, they pick up a lot of electrical noise when the computer is in high power states. The noise comes through on the Modius even if on a different input, the computer usb has to be completely disconnected (seperate usb power via wall wart and optical from the computer are crystal clear). Unfortunately, the same noise is coming through to the DACs with the power blocked via this device... So the usb is dirty on just the data pins. I have ordered a slightly more expensive usb isolator and filter to try... ... show more

  • Just what I needed for my 3d printer USB connection
Size: 2
These do just what I wanted them to do and they were spec-ed to do: block power but let data through. I'm using it to connect a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W to an Ender 3 V2 Neo 3d printer and it is imperative that each end provide its own power and that one end shouldn't try to power the other. It's nice to not have to depend on a sliver of electrical tape carefully placed inside the female USB connector to do that. ... show more

  • Does the job
Size: 2
I use it to terminate the 5vDC power signal from backflowing from an AtGames BitLCD digital marquee. Without the PortaPow, the voltage leak will destroy the arcade's controller board. Chief recommends this item.

  • Blocks power but not data
Size: 2
I use this for a connection between my laptop and arduino boards where the arduino boards are already receiving power. I verified that power is not being sent through USB and I verified I could still connect to my arduino board and upload new sketches.
