The cues came with top piece just raw unfinished wood. No coating or anything. And I know and understand that the colors were just randomly picked, but I received a pink one and a purple one..

These arrives shrink & bubble wrapped in a cardboard box. If giving as a gift, this set is ready to wrap as it comes. Due to the length & narrowness of the package, I do not recommend a gift bag. This makes an acceptable standalone, any occasion gift for a new (non-professional) pool player or host/hostess/housewarming gift for someone with their own pool table. Elevate the gift by including a double cue case or cue rack, or perhaps a box of chalk & some extra tips. Nowhere does it mention the weight, so I'll let you know that these are 20 oz. cues. These are fairly standard, 2 piece cues. If you want to travel with them/use them outside your house, you'll need to purchase a case/cases separately. These are not exactly straight, having a slight wobble/bend in the narrower end, but not bad. I've seen house cues much worse. I think this is a combination of 'you get what you pay for' & the shrink wrap. A skilled player should be able to compensate for the slight bend, & a low skill player such as myself, well, the bend isn't enough to make a difference in my slop games. I definitely like the unique grip & find it preferable to other grips I've played with, especially if my hands are getting sweaty. Also, the designs are attractive. Overall, a good set of standard, no frills, 20 oz, 58" pool cues for playing some fun, casual games of recreational pool. If you're serious or professional, then save your money & get a professional (& professionally priced-$$$) cue. We recommend. ... show more
