After a few attempts. I was able to get it snug. However, my hair is fine & thin therefore it eventually slides down after 45 min. Even after doing 25 minute wall pilates workout it fell out completely. Which isn't extreme workout (for those that don't know) Photos to show how it slides down & is not up right anymore after putting it in. This would work well for anyone who has medium to thick hair for it to hold snug and stay. Which is disappointing, because I think most people who really want this look have fine, thin hair. Which is the whole reason I ordered it because I can't get this look easily. I have to work at by either manipulately pony holders or ratting my hair. I ordered size small. So I recommend sizes as follows; small for average thickness medium for thick large for really thick super curly hair. ... show more

I first bought the medium sized ones because my hair is average thickness and not "thick' or "thin". It is extremely long though so the pony-o could not hold all my hair up. So I tried half up and actually watched the tutorials and stuff and got it to work with half my hair, so I ordered the XL ones. I really like these as they do not pop and break constantly like hair ties do. They do not leave a crease in the hair either so I can change my hairstyle throughout the day. It does work to put your hair on the top of your head like in the pictures, I just do not wear my hair like that since 1998 LOL. Only negatives are: if you hair is all one length and does not have layers, it does not give the poofy look I was going for that is in all the advertisement images for this product. i bought this specifically because of the volume it seems to create. I have medium-long hair however it is thin, so when i use a typical/standard hair tie, it just falls flat. the idea of this product is genius, however i am not sure if it truly works. you have to ensure you purchase the right width/size for your hair. i apparently purchased the size that is too large for my hair and did not hold as well as i thought it would. if its too big, turning the outsides inward (per the directions) is very hard and there is space in between and does not provide a tight hold. i managed to work through it however i definitely do not use it as much as i thought. maybe if you have really thick hair or extensions, this might work way better for you. ... show more

I love this is a woman-owned company and I love the basic idea. However, these bands would work well only for hair with natural texture or hair with a lot of product. I followed instructions and really, really squished the band down to hold tight. It stayed tight for about a half hour. Later, I went back to my regular drugstore hair ties, popped in a twist pin and then used the Pony-O. The upside is that it covered my hair band and made my pony look tidy and professional. The downside is that it can not be used alone on long, straight hair. The Pony-O is covered metal - and I do wonder if the constant bending of the metal will eventually cause it to break with metal fatigue. ... show more

I tried these after seeing them online. I have long hair and lots of it, though it is fine. These do not stay nor do they make my ponytail look like any of the pictures. Maybe it's user error, but I gave up on them.

It's amazing. I will admit that I got it out of the package and tried to use it like I saw on the video that spurred me to buy it. I failed. I was immediately disappointed because yes, these are quite pricey. Then I pulled out the little card that gives you step-by-step pictorial instructions, and oh my gosh, if you are struggling with this product after you bought it please go back and try to just follow those instructions. Patiently (yeah that's hard for me, too). You will get the results that you were sold on. On top of that, you can feel how high quality these are. If somebody had had me try these in person and asked $15 just for one, I would have bought up immediately. Luckily you get two for 16 plus tax and shipping depending on where you live. The only complaint I can submit is that they don't fit around my wrist like a normal hair tie. If you are thinner than me (an easy feat by an incredibly large margin), you may not have this complaint. Which is kind of a silly complaint anyways, brought on by 30 years of habit. I keep my spare one on a carabiner on my purse now. I have mid-range curly hair. have a lot of it but the individual strands themselves are fine and fragile. In a traditional pony with an circular tie, my pony looked thin and pathetic and from the front I look like Draco Malfoy if he had brown hair. I have struggled for years finding ponytail holders that works since yeah, it looks real thick, but also no lol. Trust me once I got this thing secured properly, I was shaking flipping and moving my head around everywhere like when I used to mosh 20 years ago and it didn't budge. If you have lost faith in online advertising like myself, take my word for it and go ahead and try these out. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, and you will love it. I liked the idea of a thicker appearing ponytail. My hair is thick enough, but sometimes you want more! At first use, it was extremely stiff. It took a fair bit of hand strength to get it where I wanted it. With subsequent uses it was easier to mold into shape, but it lost it’s nice clean look, getting crinkly looking. It’s pretty limited in the sizing, too. If you want to stack your pony tails or do a half up style, you’ve got to buy a smaller size. It’s not like you can just twist it around once more. I got the gray color, it’s not that pretty. Just a flat, dull, raw rubber color. The product did exactly what it said it would for me first time out. But now it’s relegated to the back of my hair accessory drawer. ... show more
