Polar Tech Ice Brix leakproof viscous gel refrigerant poly pack. Ice-Brix is a specially formulated leakproof, long lasting, viscous gel refrigerant that is made with non-toxic ingredients included in the FDA (GRAS) provision. Generally regarded as a safe substitute. They are sealed in a heavy-duty plastic pouch and keeps perishable products at a constant and desirable temperature. Ice-Brix was rated "Best in all aspects". Ice-Brix is the ultimate in refrigerant cold packs. Their unique features includes long lasting cold, efficient transfer of energy, leakproof, reusable, economical, custom imprinting. Custom imprinting available on all films. Your logo or design can be imprinted on these bags in red, green, blue or black. Low minimum runs and a small set-up charge required. I use these to ship breastmilk using USPS Priority 3 day. These ice packs are way colder than any others I have used. When packaged properly everything is still frozen on the third day. I also use these for my own purposes. I put 4 in a double lined cooler bag and we went out for the day, when we got back I forgot to put them back in the freezer. The next evening I saw the cooler and remembered and when I opened it up they were still frozen in the middle! I recommend these for all your shipping/cooling needs.     • Extremely happy with this product
I was a bit skeptical about the use of this product for food shipments. So I did a little experiment at home. I live in South Florida and it was fairly warm days (Averaging about 89-93 degrees F.) I placed a few of this in a close Styrofoam cooler in the garage for about 2 days and they were still fairly cold after the 2nd day. So I sent my Bro in Michigan a number of cooked specialties and placed the Poly packs in various locations throughout the Styrofoam cooler. One thing to do is to make sure that whatever food you ship, ensure that it has been in the fridge for about a day or so before shipping. This will help the packs stay cooler for a longer period of time. Shipped Fed-X (2-day air) and the food got there still very cold. It could have gone another day. But to be safe I think 2- days is good for keeping everything fresh and healthy. I recommend the product. Thank You ... show more

Absolutely perfect for shipping breastmilk. Has kept 200-300 oz of milk frozen in 2 day.. even 3 day transit when delivery has been delayed! I freeze them for 48 hours minimum for optimal benefits. Tip for breastmilk shippers, freeze between cookie sheets to get them as flat as possible!

    • Great Across Country and Across Town
This is our second purchase of exactly these. I sometimes ship chocolate across the country and this keeps the contents cool enough to prevent melting. And they are then reusable! Pretty awesome. Our main use for this is lunches and trips to the parks. Toss them in and no worries about melting ice. So inexpensive that if you accidentally puncture it or abrade it by dropping it or your child chews on it without your knowledge, you can throw it out. I think the leakproof descriptor is accurate. This is 2 mil plastic. People may not like to hear this, but personal responsibility! It's not leak proof if you drive a nail through it, it's leak proof if you use it as intended, a few times. I've had a few that I've used for over a year, and a few that came back in a lunch obviously spent after one go. Most fall somewhere in between. I have a few that live inside it's own Ziploc bag for extra protection due to being packed with forks. Who knows what happened to it in my 6 year old son's snack bag?     • Don't buy. Not as described or pictured.
I have been buying these ice packs for years now. Every once in a while I would get a complaint from a customer that they were warm when they got them. I figured it was warm weather, but now its been very cold everywhere and we are still getting occasional complaints, so I tested these out myself. I put 1, 2, and 3 packs in 3 separate insulated shippers and checked on them at 24 hours. All of the ice packs were warm by then. They did not stay cold at all. I have since purchased a different kind and they stay cold for 24 hours with just 1 ice pack, and are still partially frozen at 26 hours. I haven't tested 1 further than that, but 2 ice packs stay cold for more than 2 days. Sad thing is, they are both made by polar tech. I do have to wonder if these are the true IB6, because instead of having blue ink print, they had black ink print. I can not use these. Wasted money. Will not buy these again. ... show more

    • Great Ice Pack at an Excellent - Worked All Summer!
We used these ice packs at our chocolate shop to ship chocolate all summer, even to areas where the heat was up to the high 90's. They're the perfect size, and we'd add 2-3 of them with our product wrapped in insulated bubble wrap. We shipped hundreds of chocolate orders this summer and only had a few melt (mostly due to being left in a hot mailbox--impossible!). Great product at a great price, we'll use this company again! If you’re not familiar with this product, they are kind of “squishy” when they are not frozen. They come in different sizes, and this is the 4X6” size. Click the name Polar Tech, under the title at the top, to see additional sizes and products. Please Note: They are “flexible”. They will freeze hard however you place them into the freezer. So if you want them to be flat, you must make sure they are flat in the freezer. But if, for example, you want them to be curved, then you may wish to place them over an empty soda can in the freezer. These are also reusable, which is very nice. ... show more

These take a decent amount of time to freeze, and depending on how hot it is, a couple of hours to thaw. You do get a lot of ice packs for the price though and I like their size. I attached a photo with one next to a medium priority mail USPS box for reference.
