  • IN-DEPTH VITA REVIEW
Color: Silver
This was my first purchase buying from a non amazon-fufilled seller (Premium-Japan) and also importing something from outside the US. The item was shipped in 2 days but was processing through customs for a week and to my suprise was in perfect condition. No Scratches or dents anywhere! Brand New condition and would purchase from this seller again. That being said I personally hate the cheap glossy black of the vita slim and dont really like or care for the other matte colors, so i decided to go with the silver color and out of all the colors feels and looks the most "premium". I know its plastic painted silver but for some reason the texture just feels like metal and i like that. The color is exactly like the ps4 silver controller, so you can use that as a reference. The ps vita is a great portable console. I would argue is a better console than the nintendo 3ds in every way. But the ps vita is pretty much dead in the US due to poor business decisions (like the overprice memory cards you NEED to buy) so there are next to none games comming out except for japanese titles and indie games. But what you do have is a vast catalog of great ps vita games (including collections of ps2's greatest such as jak and daxter, ratchet and clank, sly, and god of war) from its early years, psp games, and some ps1 games that you can get dirt cheap pre-own or download them off psn when they have dirt cheap deals. People complain about the ps vita slims downgrade to an LCD screen instead of the OLED screen on the original vita but it really isnt an issue at all. No picture or video will do the ps vita slim's screen justice, you really have to see it with your own eyes. What I did notice is that the slim has a tiny hint of yellow compared to the original vita that you won"t notice unless you have them side by side. The original vita's OLED screen is better, has better colors, more contrast, deeper blacks but has major problems on pretty much all original vitas (for more info just google ps vita oled problems amd look at the images) that inclues screen burn-in, dead pixels, and black spots appearing. I had an original vita that started developing black spots so i personally had to deal with. The vita slim trades the arguably ""better""OLED screen for a smaller profile, better battery life, micro usb (so you dont need a power brick and wire combo like the old one just plug your in phone charger that's laying around), and better redisign like the touchpad being smaller on the back and making the grips bigger. This is how i would explain if you should get the vita slim or not: If you never got a ps vita get the slim If you got the original vita and nothing is wrong with it there is no need to upgrade unless the micto usb and battery life really matter to you If your original vita broke or got lost like me get the slim I dont really notice the screen difference unless i'm looking for it. ... show more

  • Love PS Vita!
Color: Silver
Purchased a used-like new from seller TOKI corp. with FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) in original box with all accessories included. Box was nicely wrapped and taped up, felt like a brand spanking new product when I received it. The device is in better condition than expected and works great! Small hairline scratch on the back which was only noticeable once I observed in under a bright flashlight. Nothing to worry to much about as it does not hinder the device's performance. Device came with 3.7 firmware so ask sellers before making purchases on these PS Vita as they are no longer in production in Japan. This PS Vita will be strictly for remote play so firmware is not of importance to me. I usually only purchase used devices from Amazon as seller but so glad I found a gem within the seller listings. Extremely happy with this device and for the price it was a steal of a deal compared to the actual brand new and even some used listings in worse conditions! Thanks to another reviewer I was also able to find a case for my new PS Vita with the Hori grip attachment. Case is 'ADVANTUS Large Soft-Sided Pencil Case, Fabric with Zipper Closure, Black (67000)' - ASIN B004I2KI3U. ... show more

  • I really felt like I was ripped off
Color: Light Pink/White
I was not a big fan of the PS Vita (PCH-2000) because it felt kind of cheap. I paid $200 and when I got it, I really felt like I was ripped off. The buttons were very squeaky (audible across the room) and the right side of the console felt loose and squeaked when you pressed on the far edge of it. I returned it and purchased an older white PS Vita (PCH-1000). The PCH-1000 is thicker and heavier, but it is a quality product. I didn't feel like I was ripped off when I got it. It felt good in my hands and none of the buttons squeaked. Also, the OLED screen is much nicer then the LCD that is found on the PCH-2000. The only down side to the OLED is that you have to be cautious with "burn ins" on the screen. Honestly the only thing I really liked about the PCH-2000 vs. the PCH-1000 is that it is lighter and a little bit easier to hold, but I can deal with the increased weight and thickness for a better quality console. The PCH-2000 is not a horrible console, as long as you don't mind the possibility of having squeaky buttons. It weighs virtually nothing and the LCD screen is still good quality, especially if you have never seen the OLED screen. I would probably end up purchasing this product again if I didn't have an option to still get the PCH-1000. If you are making a first time PS Vita purchase, do your research before you jump in. The PCH-1000's can still be found for a decent price, but they are slowly getting harder to find. ... show more
