I got these plates to use for our annual Christmas Eve dinner and was very disappointed in their studiness. We almost had a major mishap. My 17 yr. old granddaughter was reaching to the middle of the table while standing, to put some food on her plate and what she already had on the plate caused the plate to give way and luckily she grabbed the plate with her other hand before it all dumped in the middle of the table. I ended up offering everyone a second plate to put under their plates to keep an accident from occuring. Those plates are pretty pittiful as far as using them for a meal - sandwiches maybe, but not to place a full meal on them while holding onto them with one hand and placing food on them with the other hand. These are some very nice plates. They are made of plastic, they are tough and they can be microwaved. On top of that if you cut on top of them the plate and take a lot of force before it will slice. I use my plates for dog food, pie, sandwiches and other things and the plates have held up with no issues. I will continue getting these after I run out of these plates. I have put a decent amount of weight on them and they have done a good job. If you are looking for a decent set of disposable plates just get these.
