Description

The A.R.S. Classic is the original anatomic relief saddle and it's been keeping cyclists comfortable for decades. Its sporty good looks and anatomic relief features give you great comfort and support on short and long rides, alike. This supportive, women's-specific saddle is anatomically designed for multiple-hour comfort on your bike. A full length recess down the center of the saddle minimizes pressure on sensitive body parts, while firm SuperSoft padding, a soft Lycra cover, and Flex Support base further boost comfort. The saddle measures 6.25 by 9.5 inches (W x D). About Planet Bike In November of 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment. Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self- propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact. Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, they strive to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short ten year history, they have made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the 4-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that ten years ago started as a one man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve their product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

  • Huge improvement
This saddle is a huge improvement from the stock saddle. I got this for my daughter because it was recommended for women and good for the price. she instantly could feel the difference. The channel relieves pressure and helps prevents numbness in the legs and groin area. The gel padding is comfortable on the sitting bones. The material seems durable so far but we only ride 10-12 miles at a time so we aren't putting it to the test of someone riding 40-50+ miles at a time. Installation was easy and only too a few minutes. she says she would recommend this saddle to others. ... show more

  • Great from the start
This is my go-to replacement. Its wider then a mens saddle, and not needlessly long. the padding is soft and comfortable without any break-in time. The cut-away is effective at relieving pressure where you dont want it. I appreciate the leather-ish type accents on the side which would protect the lycra if you lean the bike against anything, or if the bike falls over. This saddle looks great too, sporty on any bike, and doesn't look like an easy chair. This is a good seat for a bike I dont ride every day, but needs to be comfortable when i do. There are much more expensive seats that will probably break in better and last longer, but this is a good compromise between expense and comfort. This saddle is currently installed on my touring bike, and i'm installing the next on my mountain bike next. Both are micro-adjust style seat posts, and it would install fine on a non-micro-adjust post as well. And its called an ARS! :) ... show more

  • Even as a newbie bike rider I can tell the difference!
This was for the first (adult) bike I've ever had. I spent $500 on a Trek road bike with the WORST seat! I spent some time on Amazon and found this little beauty at a relatively good price. It seems to be made very well, with a nice feel to the materials. The mounting apparatus was a little goofy and frustrating for me (one of those "you hold this carefully while I try to screw this part without knocking the piece out" scenarios). Not impossible, but perhaps since it was my first time, I had more trouble than most. The seat itself was MUCH more comfortable to me. Enough that it totally drew attention away from my bum and made me realize how much my wrists hurt (a never ending quest for comfortable accessories). I am a small gal, 5'2 and 108lbs, so it was never too much weight on the "spot", but the pressure really was that horrendous. This relieved 75% of my pain, perhaps could've been a little comfortable in the back bum area, but a great improvement! For the price and the prime shipping, I'd buy it again. ... show more

  • Great seat for a smaller woman
I was looking for a new seat for my exercise bike, my old seat was very large and wide and very firm. It may be a fine seat for a different person but I'm very petite and it was way too big for me! I couldn't ride due to the pain this seat caused. The others reviews mentioned that this seat was very small so I thought it may be good for me. It showed up exactly on time and it's perfect for a small woman. I'm 5 feet tall and small-boned and this fits me very well. I don't bang my hip bones on the seat anymore and it's much more soft and squishy. It also just seems well made so I think it will hold up well. I feel I can finally use my bike the way it was intended! This is a VERY small seat so if you are not tiny it may be too small. It did solve the problem of pain on the inside of my hips I had from the bones there hitting the seat as my feet revolved very well, if you are small and suffering this problem, this may be the seat for you. ... show more

  • Extremely comfortable
I bought this seat for my wife (and the mens version for myself). We previously had purchased those terrible flat Schwinn 'no-pressure' or whatever seats. They are crazy comfortable, just not if you have to pedal at all, which makes them worthless for biking. So just like everyone else says, they are super comfortable due to the pressure being in the right spot. Yep. Got it. The crazy thing we found is that IMMEDIATELY after switching from the flat seats to these, we could bike much faster and farther than before, simply because we could fully extend our legs. Makes sense really. So our first ride with these was a 12 miler with plenty of 'exploring' along the way, so ultimately about 4 hours of total time on the seats. Yeah, no saddle sore or anything. And this was only our second long ride on the bikes (first being with the flat seats). So we didn't even have to 'build up' to the seat pressure points or anything. Awesome. To be honest, I think the women's version of this seat is more comfortable than the men's (as a man), so in the future I might just buy 2 women's to replace ours when they wear out (and I'll just rub off the labels on mine or something)... ... show more

  • Not comfortable
This seat was not at all comfortable. Just pay the extra money and get a good one at a bike store.

  • Didn’t find it comfortable
I purchased this because of the vented seat to add comfort while riding but didn’t find an improvement from my older seat so returned it. I feel I gave it an adequate break in chance as I rode threw 20 mile treks.
