This is well made and looks great. It is inexpensive given the overall quality of fabric and manufacture. The main compartment against your back does exactly what it should. I took this on a recent trip and used it as my carry-on under the seat. I checked my larger bag, and this held everything I could use on a plane ride: iPad, scarf, ear buds, chargers, a book, a water bottle, phone, eyeshades, etc. Note: do be careful WHAT you put WHERE. This is well-made, but you can damage it by poor placement of sharp things! After the 1st plane ride, I found a small rip to the lining at the base of one of the two front zippered pockets, where I had stored some chargers with sharp plug ends. That rip was not the fault of the manufacturer, it was mine for jamming in a bunch of sharp things to a small pocket! On my flight back, I swapped where I put things, taking out all sharp items from the front side pockets. If I had an upgrade to suggest, I'd use a more durable rip-stop kind of lining to those front hidden pockets, maybe with reinforcements to where it fastens at the base of the pocket -- it is tempting to jam in a lot of stuff. I bought this specifically for a 2 week vacation overseas. I used it as a carry-on, a purse, and as a backpack to carry stuff. It is large enough to hold everything - including a tablet or small laptop, two stuffed animals, a sweater, a scrunched-up raincoat, wallet, keys, passport, makeup, lotion, etc. There are two side pockets that were perfect for even oversized bottles. The fabric held up well to some ill treatment. The wide straps were comfortable and never pinched and made it easy to pull the bag on or slide it off my shoulders, even in crowded or tight areas. Overall it was what I had hoped for. The only thing is, there are two internal pockets that do not zip up and they were pretty much useless - too shallow. Anything I put in either pocket, once I went back in to get it, had popped out of those pockets. Lip gloss, room keys, hand lotion - it all popped out again and fell to the bottom of the bag. (There is one zipper pocket which did stay zipped and worked great.) Overall, it worked just like I'd hoped and I'm pleased with my choice. ... show more

This bag turned out to be exactly as advertised. For me it was life changing. I bought it as a last minute purchase before traveling abroad and I'm so glad I did. I could walk around hands free feeling secure because no one could open the bag while it was on my back. When in restaurants or museums I could hold it as a handbag which was perfectly attractive. Even the handle on top came in handy a few times. The size was big enough for everything I needed to carry, including my iPad and my husband's Kindle. This bag is very cute, I get a lot of compliments on it. The brown bag has a water resistant like material on the outside that makes it easy to clean, it actually fits a bit more than I expected, I put two 5×7in notebooks, a pencil case, and my nintendo switch holder. It fits well! Granted the side pockets are a little tight for a water bottle (16oz flask) but you could fit it on the inside if you need to. I bought this backpack specifically for a weeklong vacation in Paris. It was comfortable (maybe slightly big in the straps) to wear as a backpack (kept my hands free to balance/hold on to the pole on the metro), very roomy, and nice side pockets for water bottles. The material looked nice, and was waterproof! This was especially important as it was extremely hot, and as I was sweating, it did not soak into the inside contents (postcards/papers). At some point, my friend who was next to me was pickpocketed at the Louvre (wearing a cross body bag), and I didn't lose a thing! The size that I purchased was perfect for my everyday needs while on vacation. It holds a lot more than you think and I felt super comfortable knowing that people couldn’t just open it when it was on my back. The transition from backpack to shoulder bag was very useful whenever I had to retrieve anything. My only dislike is how uncomfortable the straps are, especially when I had a sleeveless shirt or dress.
