For half the price of the other guys you get quite a quality product while retaining compatibility with the expensive product. There are online reviews that note the other guys may be made with a few extra points of strength. Just a reminder to my kiddo not to step on them or throw them which she shouldn’t be doing with building toys anyway, is enough to make me feel like these will hold up just fine for us. Very destructive children or groups of children, such as childcare, etc. may feel the extra solid construction of the other guys is necessary. These tiles are amazing! So many different ways to be creative. Our two-year-old loves it so much and even the adults can have hours of fun with it. These are great for individual play for our toddler and can keep her engaged for 15-30 minutes at a time. They are also amazing for interactive and pretend plays, from building houses to car ramps. This is by far one of the longest lasting toys in terms of quality and level of engagement for my little one. First, the amount and variety of shapes/pieces included are enough to be creative and complex without having to buy additional sets to build decent sized structures. Secondly, the strength of the magnets is good - strong enough to keep the creations from collapsing but not overly strong that it would be difficult for toddlers to pull them apart. And the true test… it has been kid handled for years and still intact! My kiddo has been using these for years since toddlerhood and can be entertained for more than an hour! The level of motor skills and problem solving skills have definitely improved with the use of these tiles. This was my third time purchasing Picasso tiles. I bought the first one for my grandchildren when they were toddlers. They have played with these tiles consistently for over six years. I bought a second set because their builds became bigger and more complex. I just bought the third set for my great niece. In an age when kids like to play video games, these tiles are a perfect alternative. They encourage creativity and imagination. They are also well built. We have never had a broken one. ... show more

My 3-year-old absolutely loves these tiles. We initially started with a small box that he received for his birthday, and for Christmas, we gifted him this 100-piece set.
