    • This thing gets the job done
So like the title says this thing does get the job done. I have very thick course hair on my legs. Waxing results and just ripping off layers of skin and leaving hair behind completely untouched. I’ve purchased several electric razors, both expensive and cheap. All the others have done is snatch at my hair without even having the decency to even pull the suckers out. I can’t often shave with regular razors because I get wicked skin infections and I just can’t fight them off and I end up in the ER with cellulitis. Now this one actually did the job. It did such a good job that it started to clog the thing. But that was an easy fix, literally just wiping the hair out without taking it apart. It tackled parts of my legs that haven’t seen the sun in years without issue. Now here’s where I goofed, I got very excited with it and lost control just shaving any part of my body that can for hair other than my head and eyebrows. Maybe when you use it next to the goods and bads maybe hold the skin taught. It snared and I thought it caught a hair. Now I was impressed it shaved my entire orangutan body smooth without a problem so I didn’t concern myself with it. Well turns out it caught my skin, cut it just a smidge, I didn’t even know I had been cut. So it’s sharp to say the least. But it’s the first razor to work without snatching hair. I can’t even get over the fact that I didn’t even know I had cut myself. I feel this is a quality product and I would nick my nethers again in a heartbeat to get these results. And I’m shocked that for the most part I feel smooth, only on parts of my legs where I wasn’t paying attention to detail is there even feel-able stubble. Those batteries lasted my entire body without slowing down so that’s cool too. I’m just excited to be able to wear shorts again in the 120 degree heat of a Florida summer. ... show more

I had an electric shaver when a teenager, but never replaced it after I wearing it out. Switched to disposables, but now as a much older adult, being eco friendly is important to me. Therefore, its time to go back to using an electric shaver, so I did some comparison shopping, and decided on the Phillips SatinShave. At my age (68), I no longer have to shave every other day (perhaps only once per month), so I suspect this new shaver will last forever. After trying it out, it shaves very smoothly, no rash afterward, and feels ergonomically comfortable. There are a few things that gave me difficulty due to my arthritis. One was the packaging, which was difficult to open. Also, the battery compartment was difficult to open (hopefully the batteries will not need to be replaced too often). Minor detail: Would be nice if the shaver came with a travel pouch or case. The price for this Phillips shaver is very reasonable (big plus), and finding something to carry it in for traveling should not be a problem. I bought this in December 2023 and one year later it works as well as the day I bought it. I’ve now decided to gift one to my mother knowing it is durable. I’ve always used it as a dry razor bc I was afraid water would leak to the batteries but recently tried it in the shower turned away from the spray and it worked great. Way more convenient and preferable. Will do so from now on. Wonder if anyone had issues using it under full shower spray. ... show more

This is the third one of these that I purchased. The first one was rechargeable- I lost the charger and replacement didn’t work. It also came with more extras like a bag to carry the extra accessories)I left the second one (battery operated) at my sister’s house and she claimed it! This is another battery operated and doesn’t feel the same. The battery cover is a bit challenging to open and close. The razor feels lighter weight and breakable. No carry bag or extra stuff like a full size cleaning brush and shave guard. It works ok ( not the greatest) and is still convenient. You get what you pay for I guess. ... show more

I did not expect much from this shaver, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have thick leg hair, and this does a decent job. It does not give a super close shave like a razor does, but it's still very good. I have not tried this in the shower, but I use it to trim and dry shave my leg hair. I'd say trimmer works better than the shaver. For the price, it's worth it. ... show more
