  • Decent Brightness with Poor Longevity
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
Addition to Original Review: Second set of these bulbs lasted almost exactly 10 months, then both low beams burned out at the same time. I drove around 10,000 miles in this time and do not leave lights on during daylight, unless there is inclement weather or sketchy 2-lane highway. I don't think I will purchase these again. Bulbs are brighter and whiter than OE, but not significantly. For the price, I am okay with the brightness. However, the main problem is the longevity of the bulbs; both bulbs burnt out within nine months. They were carefully installed and gloves were worn to avoid getting oil on the bulbs. Philips and Amazon customer service did quickly expedite the warranty process and new bulbs were sent out at no charge. Honoring the warranty is great, but I'd rather have the bulbs last longer. If you buy these, I strongly recommend keeping a back up set in your vehicle. ... show more

  • Complete garbage, only lasted 7 MONTHS!!!!
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
I bought these in October 2016 and by May 2017 BOTH bulbs had burned out!! Less than 7 months of life from them. I drive a 2000 Toyota 4Runner and these replaced the ORIGINAL bulbs...if you are following the math on this the original ones lasted well over 16 years and these more expensive higher end replacements lasted 7 months. REALLY!?!?!? Complete garbage, don't waste your time or money on these!!!!! ... show more

  • Should have gotten these years ago!
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
I thought the poor light from my 2008 Toyota Highlander was because my headlight covers are getting foggy with age (aren’t we all!). Turns out, it was super old bulbs. I am a 61-year-old woman and replaced these bulbs in less 10 minutes. Easy-peasey; no tools required. I should have gotten these years ago! What an incredible difference. And, if they only last a couple of years, I will simply buy them again. They don’t make ANYTHING like they used to (whoever “they” are), so I wouldn’t expect these $29 bulbs (or that $30,000 vehicle you’re putting them in) to last forever. Nothing does. And spending $29 every 2 years seems like a super small price to pay for increased safety for you, your passengers, and everyone on the road you will now be able to see. ... show more

  • You'll trade bulb life for brightness, but it's worth it!
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
I bought these Philips bulbs on the recommendation of an automotive headlight forum. These bulbs are of good quality. They're made in Poland and cast a noticeably brighter light than the regular, made in Korea Halogens they replaced. I see a lot of reviews complaining about short bulb life, but that's the nature of brighter bulbs. Brighter bulbs have lower lifespans. If you get a regular or long life bulb, it'll last a long time, potentially years, but it'll be much dimmer and won't perform as well as these Philips X-tremevison bulbs. I've installed these bulbs in a classic car that doesn't see much night driving, and the headlamp assembly is easily accessible, so longevity isn't a big concern for me. I'll gladly replace the bulb more often if the tradeoff is safer nighttime driving. In summary, if you're ok with replacing them more often than regular bulbs, get the Philips X-tremevision bulbs, aim them correctly so you don't blind your fellow drivers, and enjoy safer, well-lit roads at night! ... show more

  • Nice Improvement but Bulbs Don’t Last Long
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
I liked the light these bulbs give off, it was a big improvement over the factory bulbs. Beware though, they don’t last very long. Mine burned out after about 11 months. I contacted the seller and was quickly sent replacements, which was great. About 12 months later, one of the replacements burned out. I contacted the seller again and they said that Amazons warranty covered the original bulbs for 12 months but the manufacturer warranty was only 3 months. The seller did agree to replace a second time but explained that these bulbs were not designed to last very long and I should purchase a more expensive version. I’m not sure I would purchase again due to the short life expectancy. However, the seller was very responsive and I appreciate them standing behind their product. ... show more

  • Not worth; Lasted only 1 year
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
It's true that these are much brighter than OEM bulbs. But the brightness is at the expense of longevity. The ones installed on my CR-V 04 lasted only one year. They both burned out one after another. I think that this product is consistently short-lived. I don't think they worth $33. For a replacement, I got ones from a company called Voltage Automotive, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B657ZVM which I hadn't heard of. The brightness is about the same. The price was about 1/3. I'm very happy with it. I'll never come back to Phillips. ... show more

  • X-tremeVision not so
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
I just recently had my 2002 Tacoma truck headlight housings restored. The housing looks awesome and clear but the light is not that bright due to the 18 years old light bulbs so I bought these X-tremeVision pair. Well, to my disappointment they aren't that bright, not that much. I expected the X-treme Version to be much brighter than my 18 years old pair but barely since they are newer. I really am disappointed with these and ….they aren't that cheap. ... show more

  • Better than the Xtremes
Style: XtremeVision: up to 100% More Vision
These replaced the Xtreme power bulbs that are no longer available. Only one burnt out so I put one of these in to compare. Yes, they say to replace two at a time but that may be to sell more bulbs. Who knows, I may have touched the one that burnt out when I installed it which shortened the life. But I digress. These bulbs are slightly brighter than the Xtremes. I wouldn't say 20% as the Xtremes were listed as 80%. But these are great bulbs and I hope they last. The Xtremes lasted 4 years. But they were not listed as 100%. If these burn hotter they will burn out sooner. Not as fast as SilverStar as those last about a year. ... show more
