  • Sturdy case! Costumizable!
This case is the perfect size for my nail gun! (A Senco FinishPro 18.) The case is sturdy, and the 3 bottom layers of foam allow for depth customization. In this case, I left one layer out, and cut a groove in the 2nd layer so the container of oil fits in a groove and doesn't roll around.

  • great case on a budget
This whole line of plastic cases from PFC is just the right mix of durability and great value I was looking for! I bought one case to hold cameras and their accessories while travelling for work, and I liked it so much I bought a few more of different sizes to hold other electronics and equipment that had previously just been stuffed in backpacks. I actually bought myself some separate foam sheets from McMaster to make custom multi-layer inserts to keep my items super secure, but there's nothing wrong with the foam that comes with the case. With these cases in hand, I feel confident that my stuff will get to the work site undamaged and in order. To be fair, they aren't waterproof like many name brand "all-weather" options, and the plastic is a bit thinner as well, but at a fraction of the cost, I'll take three! ... show more

  • Single wall, not interior dimensions, upper foam glued into upper lid
At one time, similar cases were available at a chain of retail stores that specialized in "containers". That retailer has discontinued the products (one actually could fit the items that were to be in the case and not trust published dimensions). The Amazon published dimensions for these cases are slightly larger than the actual interior dimensions as pointed out in another reviews. The previous cases were double walled, and had hard plastic "hinged" latches so that no component had to "flex" to open. This case is single walled (but evidently of a very similar or same plastic) and has latches that must be flexed to open -- these probably will fatigue fail upon repeated flexings, particularly when needed to opened upon storage in an unheated storage building (say, at below "freezing", less than 0 C). Thus, these are lower quality than the cases I prefer but that I cannot find and that Amazon does not seem to offer. Will the case suffice? Time will tell. These are the "best" that I currently can find. ... show more

  • FOAM INSIDE (lots of it!)
I've been using this case everyday for 1 month. Soooo . . . I'll add to the review later when I have more experience with it. For now I'll write mostly about the subject of the foam which is not discussed in detail in the ad. The foam is all about the inner dimensions and important to measure. The important consideration is not the OUTside dimensions, but the INside dimensions and the a lot of the inside measurements are not relevant because they INCLUDE the unusable space already taken up by foam. Example: 12" space inside and 2" of foam equals only 10" of usable space inside (although foam will be compressed by objects). - Carrying case comes supplied with: 4 pieces of foam which take up part of the inside dimensions of the case height and length = There is an egg carton shaped foam (peaks and valleys) glued into case. This piece takes up 1/2 of the entire case, but of course can be depressed and compressed when using. It CAN be removed, but the generous adhesive will cause it to damage and rip and it cannot be used again if you change your mind about it. There are 3 other pieces of foam that are loose and not glued that can be used or not used - as your options. I will list all 4 pieces that are the same height and length as the case inside: 1 x foam shaped like egg carton with 1" depth, (glued in place) 2 x removable pieces with a depth of 1" +1/4" each, 1 x removable piece with a depth of 1/2" TOTAL = 4 PIECES OF FOAM - COLOR - What the photo does not show you is that the case is 'dark chocolate brown'. Some people may enjoy that, but I was expecting 'black'. It's OK, but I just prefer black. DURABILITY OF PLASTIC MATERIAL - I DID accidentally drop the case fully loaded and heavy from a height of 5 feet onto a concrete floor. I was surprised and happy to find that it did not crack, dent, scratch, or even show an abrasion on the surface. IS IT WATERPROOF OR SAND PROOF? - Water and sand CAN work itself into the case when one opens it and that would a create permanent problem with the foam, but I find that wiping rain or sand off of it BEFORE opening it stops anything from entering the case when I later open it. It is definitely NOT waterproof at the parts that move or water resistant at the edges of the openings as in leaving it out in the rain, but it does close tightly and securely otherwise. It was never advertised as waterproof, so that is not an issue with the seller. It is NOT in any way water proof or water resistant, so I put the items inside into gallon freezer ziplock bags. This also protects against dust getting in. DOES IT LOCK? Another tip for safely using this case is that one has a tendency, when in a hurry, to close the case and walk away with it. This is not good to do. The deceptive thing is that the case looks closed and then the case can suddenly open and drop everything inside out. Why? The case closes and the locking clasps connect, but they do not lock by themselves. One must manually push the clasps down into place and inspect that they are secured before carrying the case. People have asked me "is it is a gun case for carrying pistols" and you may get similar questions. I just open the case and display the contents and that answers the question. My opinion is that the case is good for my usage. INTERNAL DIMENSIONS - This is where I get into danger - don't hold it against me if these numbers are not perfect, but they are close! I measure a length of 13.5 " and a width of 9.5 ". That part is easy, but the depth is the important number and I get 4 " on that. Please note that the glued-in foam takes up some of that 4 " and that also the glued-in foam compresses around objects when the case is closed and becomes smaller. Additionall, one may add the other 3 pieces of foam that come with the case and are not glued-in. ... show more

  • This is realistically more like 13. 5" by 9
So I assumed that the dimensions of the box would be accurate. My guitar's pedal board is exactly 14" by 10". Can't fit in at all. just sits on the lip of the case. I'd buy a larger one but at this point I don't want to be screwed again. 90% of people buying these are trying to fit something inside of it and are using your measurements. Make sure they're correct. This is realistically more like 13.5" by 9.5" ... show more
