  • Shoes that Represent Strength
There are 2 demographics for this type of shoe: 1. People who like the retro fashion look. 2. People who seriously do strength training in the powerlifts (squat, bench press, deadlift). I'm in category number 2. Converse Chuck Taylors are popular for weight lifting for the very reason that generates negative reviews for some users, and that is a minimal flat sole that lets you feel the floor and doesn't compress under heavy weight. However, Converse Chuck Taylors under Nike have gone down in quality for the price, and they run very narrow resulting in a clown shoe look if you have wide feet. I wanted to find an alternative rather than going to a dedicated weightlifting shoe and tried the Center Hi PF Flyers. Right away you will notice that they are just flat out higher quality. The last is also superior with a slightly wider toe box that makes all the difference in feel. For me, I ordered the same 10.5 size I got in Chucks, and it a superior fit. One thing that might alarm someone looking for a weightlifting shoe is the softer and more supportive insoles in the PF Flyers. I have found it to be a non-issue. While they are more comfortable to walk in, they still have the flat vulcanized rubber sole that doesn't compress under load, and the insole is not thick enough to cause significant enough compression to notice in a squat or deadlift. The insoles are removeable as well. If you hate the narrowness of Chucks, these deserve your attention. They have become scarce and I'm not sure if it's related to the pandemic or if New Balance is planning on discontinuing the brand. I urge you to write them and try to keep PF Flyers alive, and buy them while you still can because they are outstanding and deserve to be first place in this category. ... show more

  • Impossible to Order the Correct Size after Many Tries
I finally ordered this shoe directly from the manufacturer, for a higher price, but at least I got what I ordered. The Amazon site was quite confusing between men's shoes and women's shoes. I carefully went to the women's shoes site and ordered size 8.5. At checkout the item was listed as men's size 8.5. I clicked on the product icon and was redirected to the women's shoe page, size 8.5. So I ordered it. What I got was men's size 8.5 which is equivalent to women's size 10 which is way too big and more to the point is not what I ordered. I am returning this item. ... show more

  • For me, these look and feel better than the chucks I'd worn forever.
I love these shoes. I ordered the black/white color. I usually wear a 10 in the converse, so based on other reviews I ordered an 11 in these. They fit perfectly. I could've maybe gotten a 10.5, but they fit great. If you buy these, I recommend getting at least 1/2 size up from what you'd wear in converse chucks. I've only had these for a week or two, but already like them better than chucks for the fit, feel, and look of them. I got the high tops, and even just ordered a low top pair as well. Time will tell how they hold up, but I haven't had a pair of chucks in the last 10 years that lasted more than 6 months anyways. If these last for as long, then I'm happy. If you look up images of the original converse all star ads, these shoes look more like those than the current converse shoes do. Classic old school style shoe, that has been basically resurrected by New Balance (they own PF Flyers). I also like that the white rubber parts are actually white instead of an off white color. I'm loving these shoes, and would recommend them to anyone. Also, just for an FYI- these shoes are imported (which is not a bad thing), but PF Flyers (New Balance) also offers a USA made version of these shoes with even the sourced materials being 70% USA made. They cost a bit more than these, but something I may get in the future also. ... show more

  • Shoes guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher
First off, was odd when I first bought them. It was advertised as refurbished and men shoes. Then went back to order a second pair it was labeled as women shoes. The shoes were completely brand new, and fit as expected. First PF flyers I owned out of 100 converse. And they are by far more comfortable (my opinion ofc) The only thing I have negative, is they didn’t sell the original ALL BLACK. Just like the Sandlot ... show more

  • Defective
Normally, I love PF Flyers and greatly prefer them to Converse. I've had no less than 10 pairs. However, this pair is not up to standard. The right shoe's sole was not glued properly and has a raise right under the arch. The shoes are contoured inside for a better fit, but the right is raided by about 2-3mm. You'd think this wouldn't make that big of a difference, but it does. I can feel it every step and it is very annoying. These are going in the bin. ... show more

  • I am in love with these
I am in love with these! Excellent quality and attention to detail that far exceeds chucks! Double stitching on most parts and a far more flexible rubber sole and toecap. The Posture Foundation rigid wedge cannot be complimented enough. I have duck feet that I have to wear correctional orthopedic slip ins for and I usually dont put them in sneakers (vans and converse). I have never really found sneakers to be comfortable because of that but my Flyers have become my go to shoe! Seriously, once I broke them in (about a week of wear) they have barely left my feet. For sizing: Size 11 Converse were a little too big for me but I still ordered an 11 of these PFs and they fit perfectly, not as narrow as converse, not as wide as vans. Just needed a littlw break in period but it was worth it. ... show more

  • Love but runs small
Love these shoes but they do run small! I'm a woman's 7.5 and i ordered a size 6 and they were just a bit too small. I think if you half size up they'd fit perfectly!
