My dog still hasn't used it with the top on. The top is used as a bed area. Inside she it potty trained on reusable pads. Hopefully she will start to allow us to put the top back on soon .

This little dog house is so adorable. I love the door it helps with training. Great quality and easy to assemble. I didn't screw on the top so that I could have easy access for cleaning. Overall its well worth the money.

I must say I am greatly surprised. I had ordered another wood dog bed and it was horrible and had to be returned. So I thought this is the only other wood doggie bed I'll order this one. It arrived in good packaging. The carrier didn't cause any damage (surprise, surprise). It was packed very well; tightly and securely. My daughter put it together in less than an hour. No problems with any of the pieces. As over sensitive as my dog is I thought I would have a problem with her adjusting to it. She walked right in and laid down like it was "HOME." I don't feel that any of the negative comments in other reviews were accurate; however there weren't any predrilled holes or indentations to attach the hinges for the lid...…..NO BIG DEAL; very easy fix. Perfect house to hide a litter box, I highly recommend it! I had some fun with painting, decorating & customizing mine. I added a light for night time scooping & mounted the biodegradable littler bag roll with a wooden wine box. I left the hinged front gate off & the locking bracket for the lid didn’t allowing for it to open all the way so I took it off. (I put felt strips on the lid so it won’t scuff the wall) Neither are needed & removing them didn’t compromise the appearance or the functionality. The gaps in the floorboards are few millimeters wide so I lined the bottom with a thick plastic removable drawer liner to prevent litter from falling through. I have a 20bs Maine Coon so he needs a larger litter box with higher walls & he has no problem entering. The holes for handles double as little windows & added ventilation. I don't think it would do well in heavy rain & definitely not a warm shack for winter. My only complaint is with the predrilled holes, one corner wasn’t lined up very well so the lid didn’t lay perfectly flat. It’s a minimal concern, I could have drilled new holes but instead I raised up the other corner with thick felt pieces. ... show more

Super easy to put together and works perfectly for my 25 lb pug mix. It also looks good in my living room. Only issue I can see is if you have a dog that paws at the door then it will easily escape. The door is thin metal and simply hooks onto right side with a weak latch on left that will not stop a determined dog. Mine never tries to escape or paw at doors so it works out great. But if you have an escape artist this may not fit your needs ... show more

    • Nice cage - Recommend for small dog

Cage was easy to put together and much nicer than the old metal one we had. It looks much cleaner where the cage sits now. I have one Chihuahua that seems to like it. One thing I was concerned about was being able to clean it. But most of the dirt makes it way through the wood cracks in the bottom to be swept up and if I need to the bottom just sits on the bottom of the cage so it makes it easy to clean if need be. My Chihuahua got sick and scratched up the inside a little trying to get away from a little bit of of a mess she made. It's not noticable from the outside the scratches which is nice. We found a dog bed that fit in the cage perfectly at a local store and it covers the whole bottom except fo about an inch around all the sides. I took one star off because I'm not a huge fan of the door latch. It has a little bit of play in it so when you go to lock it, it will sometimes miss the lock hole on the outside. Easy fix is to just guide it with your other hand as you close it. ... show more
