We have laminate floors, and there is no covering on the bottom of this, not only are we afraid it may scratch our floors, but it slides when the dogs try to hit it. It would be great if it had some non-skid stuff on the bottom. I might try to fix it myself, but that is beside the point.

We ended up inheriting our son and daugher-in-law's dog after they received an overseas assignment. They told us she was bell-trained, meaning- she taps her paw on the bell and rings it when she wants to go out to relive herself or just to warm in the sun. I am thrilled (and amazed!) by their training success! The only problem we experienced (not related to the product) is that we needed a 2nd one so she could also tell us when she wanted to come in. So we bought another besides the one they had provided. The 'ding' of the bell is loud enough for us to hear indoors even when the sliding door is closed, but the sound is not at all unpleasant! It does what it needs to. Used this to train my dogs to alert when they need to go potty. It would work well for a small pet. Our chihuahua mix's paws were still a bit on the heavy side for it. Purchased this to teach my dog to ring the bell for a treat! Love the red color so I can find it easily around the house. I had purchased a different one prior to this and it fell apart quickly. This one is more sturdy, so far so good!
