Because this roll is only 16" wide, it good only for small items. This would not cover a gift basket that I'm used to putting together. If this is the size that will suit your needs, then know that the product is strong.

This is one of those items you don't realize you ever needed until you use it once, then you'll wonder why you didn't have it onhand all along. As someone who routinely makes gift baskets, that's the obvious use case. I've made some darn good ones, especially at Easter, and covering them with ordinary wrapping paper seems such a shame - and paper always tears. This is much, much tougher. It's crystal clear and lets all that work you did making the perfect basket remain on full display. By the way, this isn't some extra thick plastic wrap - it's cellophane, which is biodegradable, unlike plastic, and it's both sturdy and clear. If you want something to compare it to, I'd say it's most comparable to the wrap you might get fresh-cut flowers in. It comes in a small, resealable tube and there's 100 feet on the roll - or just over 30 meters for all you metric fans. This should last awhile, and I'm looking forward to trying out a few other uses. ... show more

I made a large basket over the weekend for a friend and this worked perfectly. I like the clear but heavy-duty quality of this cellophane wrap. It was strong and did not rip at all as I tied it together with a twisty tie and bow. I highly recommend wrapping up any fun goodies with a bow.
