  • Lightweight and Bluetooth connections
Color: WHITE5
I am the President of a non-profit association, and need to present quite often throughout the year. I was looking for a lightweight projector that would travel easy and was bright enough to use for my meetings. I am fairly satisfied with this projector. Manufacturer states this projector has 100,000 lumens. My last projector only had 7500 lumen. I was not happy with my last projector because it was not very bright. This projector is extremely bright when all the lights are off in a meeting space even with natural light from windows, and adequately bright with some lights on. The people in the back rows had a hard time seeing when all the lights were on in this room. Leaving half the lights on in the meeting space this projector still fared very well and people five rows back seated behind tables in a classroom style could still see the images projected on the 100’ screen. Comes with a remote and stereo cables, as well as an HDMI to HDMI cable. This was great because I did not bring my own HDMI cable to my last meeting. I tested this projector and set up at home prior to my meeting. At home I was able to use the remote to establish a Wi-Fi connection, wireless connection to the projector, and connect my Bluetooth speakers. Even though this projector does have a speaker built into it, the sound quality is extremely low and only useful if sitting next to the projector. I was able to Bluetooth a speaker for better sound quality. It was fairly easy to set up. I run my presentations on a MacBook Pro and use the iOS setting to establish a Mirror Screen connection. This projector has an adjustable foot to raise or lower the projected image on your screen. The adjustable foot is located in the center of the projector. I did have to put the projector box under the projector to raise the height, extend the foot, and prop the projector up as it would tip to one side when the foot was adjusted at full length. At my meeting location, I was unable to establish a wireless connection to the projector. To save time, I quickly connected my laptop to the projector with the HDMI cable. This projector was on for 9 hours straight. It does not get hot like the old projectors when running all day long. An old projectors fan would kick on and be noisy but I never heard the fan on this projector. It was so quiet and cool to the touch. An old projector would need to cool down for several minutes before packing up. I was able to turn off the power to the projector after 9 hours and pack it up right away. I was also unable to connect to the Bluetooth speaker at my meeting even though I was able to connect to a Bluetooth speaker at home. I realized the Bluetooth speaker I took with me might need to be charged, and a colleague lent me his hardwired speakers which I connected directly to my laptop. The second meeting day I used this projector, I had a zoom in guest speaker. The guest speaker was able to hear me, but I could not hear the guest speaker. The sound was not coming through my Bluetooth speaker, nor my hardwire speakers. Instead, someone else logged into the zoom meeting in the room and we connected the hardwire speakers to their laptop. I’m sure once I am more familiar with this projector. I will be able to troubleshoot in a meeting situation. When you are switching from presentations to zoom meeting under pressure if time, I was not able to troubleshoot efficiently. At home, I tried to mirror a movie from Amazon prime and Netflix without success. I read in other reviews that because of copyright, these movie sites do not allow you to project their movies. Knowing this might be an issue, I embedded a YouTube video in my PowerPoint presentation and it played fine inside my PowerPoint. Overall, I think with practice, I will be able to maneuver and set up more efficiently with this projector. It’s compact, white case, and light weight makes it exceptionally easy to travel. If I was the manufacture, I would create a soft sided canvas case with a Styrofoam insert for this projector. Instead, I just re-insert this projector back and it’s cardboard box but the foam insert is already falling apart. Our association is hosting multiple presentations in different rooms at an upcoming conference. I have enough confidence in this projector to purchase two more of the same make/model projectors for our conference. If this projector had better sound quality and even brighter projection than 100,000 lumens, I would of rated this a 5-star. These limitations is why I rated this projector a 4-star. ... show more

  • 18,000 LUX = 9,600 LUX
Color: WHITE5
This is the 5th projector I've purchased. The other 4 were 9,600 lumens and all had essentially identical brightness and features. This 18,000 lumens Pericat projector should have been noticeably brighter, but in a side-by-side comparison of a bright animated movie (same clip on both the 9,600 and 18,000 lumen projectors), it was hard to see a difference in the picture at all. Certainly not brighter, but perhaps a little more clear - barely. Identical picture settings. Since the first 4 I purchased were Tenker's on sale for $67 a pop, it's hard to recommend this Pericat when it has the same features and, honestly, same brightness, and for more than twice as much (on sale). Except that I used the Tenker projectors for 2 weeks for Halloween "digital decorations" and 3 of the 4 of them had substantial failures just in these first 2 weeks of their lives. They were only used indoors so nothing abusive, and the displays grew large white or black spots or lines across the screen. Tech support said they needed to be replaced. Perhaps you get what you pay for? But since I don't have many hours racked up on this Pericat, I can't vouch for its robustness. I can say that the 3 brands of projectors I've purchased all have essentially the same firmware (software), same features, with different names. And this Pericat is far more expensive than the Tenker. But I would bet money they are all made by the same company with slight variations (case shape and color, and a different name for example) so build quality and engineering tech is the same. Even the remotes are identical and control all 3 brands I have. None of these comes close to even a baseline LED TV, and if you're going to use Bluetooth speakers for audio, there is a video/audio sync delay that cannot be adjusted by the projector so it's up to the bluetooth speakers/processor you have, and very few don't have a delay as a result of audio processing, so you're sound comes about 1 second after the video - a significant annoyance. So plan on hardwiring them. I think we're on the cusp of getting affordable LED projectors that are bright and reliable for outdoor movie nights with the neighbors, but for now it seems to get a reliable and bright setup that supports video delay to sync with bluetooth speaker inevitable delays, even at just 1080p, we still have to pay a couple thousand. If someone has found a solid make/model with actual ASNI lumens (not these misleading lumens numbers the cheap units advertise). For example, an Epson LS11000 has 2,500 ANSI lumens and is $4k. Can't compare 18,000 lumens advertised by this Pericat projector because its brightness is likely measured at the source light which gets cut down about 30% before level leaving the lens rather than measuring the brightness on the screen at a defined distance, as the ANSI standard demands. Apples to apples. ... show more

  • Can’t reduce size of menu.
Color: WHITE5
Over all I’m extremely impressed with the quality of the picture. I’m projecting across a 33’ pool. The major complaint I have is that the menu options aren’t reduced to the screen size. I had to reduce the screen size by the max, 50%, in order to fit on a 14’ screen. In order to connect my BT speaker and select the input source I had to move the projector around in order to see what I was selecting. It was about 15min after sunset when we were able to see the picture but had no issues seeing it with ambient lighting on around the pool. ... show more
