  • The Pentel EnerGel is the Best. Believe the hype
Color: Black
For me a good pen needs to do 3 things. 1. Sits well in the hand 2. Writes smoothly without gaps or ink flow issues 3. The ability to make my less than Stellar handwriting appear legible. Of the 3 criteria the last one isn't the pens fault. These pens nail all 3 of my criteria. I like the size of these too, the barrel feels perfect in my hand. The ink flows smoothly from it's nicely finished housing. Before the Pentel EnerGel i was using some different pens from a brand i trust but were underwhelming. After reading some reviews, I decided to try these. The other brand still makes great markers. The Pentel EnerGel feels like a more expensive pen despite being less expensive than the pens I was using prior. I don't know about Durability yet, I've only used one pen for about 10 minutes. But i could tell as soon as i started writting with it, i liked it better. I'll update if anything changes but given the build quality of these I doubt that will be necessary. My handwriting is still garbage but at least i have the best pen possible to illustrate the fact. I can't remember liking a pen more. Believe the hype these are great pens. 5/5 ... show more

  • Gel pens
Color: Blue
Were purchased at a reasonable price and work well. Ergonomic design and comfortable to write with.

  • Smooth like butter
Color: Blue
Super easy to write with, the ink dries fast and never had problems with any leaking. The weight is just enough with good grip. Best pen I've ever wrote with. I wanna try the needle tip one now and the 0.5 mm. Feels like I'm writing with jelly.

  • Excellent Pens, Better than G2 (Pilot) and 207 (Uni-ball)... but get Made in Japan Model.
Color: Sky Blue
I used to be a big fan of G2 and then 207 pens, but by chance, I got one of these pens, and have not turned back. I now have a pile of new G2 Pilots and 207 Uni-balls in a box collecting dust (ranging from 1.0, 0.7, 0.5 tip sizes). First off, I've always loved the Pentel mechanical pencils (classic black ones), HB lead, and white erasers, so I'm familiar with their products. Using their gel pen is a pleasure in writing, and I've started collecting various colors. My favorite so far is the blue ink pen, which is light enough to know it's blue, but dark enough to see. From an ergo perspective, it's pretty good, since it has a latex finger grip, and the pen is not overly skinny or thick (note: if you do buy the Alloy version, those are skinnier than the plastic versions). There are a few things which I've noticed while collecting the different color inks... 1) I now only use the 0.7 pens, and do not recommend the 0.5 black ink, blue colored shaft ones. The 0.5 pens are made in Mexico, and crack easily making the pen useless (but the ink can be salvaged into a regular Energel pen case; 2) even on 0.7 pens, the ink flows freely, so the pen doesn't last as long as other gel pens. I think in part why the pen writes so well is that it uses a lot of ink, thus, if you write a lot, you'll need to refill more often than with other gel pens; 3) while this hasn't happened to me yet (and over 12+ Energel pens I use), there could be risk of leaking. By reading the reviews, it may happen more on the 1.0 size pen tips than the 0.7 or 0.5 tips. This would make sense as the pen tip is larger on 1.0 than the other sizes. I suspect if your don't want to run the risk of your pen leaking, chose something other than the 1.0 size. ... show more

  • Good Pen
Color: Violet
I like the violet color. It still smudges on prescription labels, but I imagine this is a pretty unique edge-case. Works great on all other paper. Good to know I can also buy ink refills without needing an entirely new pen.

  • So far so good
Color: Blue
Turning out to be my favorite pen for daily use. I grew tired of G2 and started testing popular pens in the same price range. These have outperformed in terms of smoothness, drying time, bleed through and consistency. No going back.

  • My favorite pen
Color: Blue
This is all I use. It feels nice in my hand, writes smoothly without skipping. Refills are readily available. This order was to replace a couple of pens that disappeared.
