The mantle is great for the price. ALthough it doesn't feel like real wood, it is nice looking and arrived ready to hang. I was initially thrilled. Unfortunately the wall above my fireplace is bowed in the middle slightly and this long mantel really showed the gap. The wall is certainly not the seller's issue but one that could have been fixed with a more expensive or custom piece. It's a wonderful example of "you get what you pay for". Living in an apartment made the decision to go with inexpensive much easier. It wasn't easy to hang, taking two professionals some adjustment and extra screws to do so securely. They worked for over two hours to get it secure. The wood piece that comes with the model left it still giving way and relatively easily bumped off. It is too heavy for that to happen without some serious damage. I am glad I paid contractors to hang it. Adding weight to the shelf is limited as well, which wasn't a problem for me. Because of the issue with the wall, I decided to forgo the mantle and hang a big picture instead. If you know your wall is perfectly level and have some contractor skills, I still think it's a great price. ... show more

Looks decent, easy to install but did arrive with a damaged corner. Product is made of MDF board as you can see from the damaged corner photo. Overall, for the price, it’s good.

It’s a beautiful mantle and ties in the space nicely. It was pretty easy to install with the help of my father took us about an hour from unboxing to clean up. Only downside is it did not come with full instructions and the only “hardware” was the piece of wood the mantle sits on which I would have thought would have been a bit wider for the size of the shelf. ... show more

final installed look is very good but installation method supplied is inadequate - required additional fasteners to make it solid - drilled through the product which then required filling and paint to cover up. Packaging seemed ok but one corner arrived with paint damage requiring sanding & paint touch up - looks like poor quality control prior to shipment ... show more

Made in VietNam, this mantle is perfect for my living room. It has a nice, smooth finish and a substantial feel and weight. It came with the "installation rail" cut to match this piece. The installation was as simple as driving three screws into studs and hanging the mantle. Sweet!

Looks great. Great Price! I wanted a deep mantle to protect the TV from the fireplace heat and that is exactly what it does. However, the standard mounting cleat, which is based on gravity, slowly slips off and makes a crack. I will have to add some more 'floating shelf' type of mounts and/or glue it down. It was extremely heavy I have fears that the wall mount will divorce it in time and fall due to heaviness it did fell once and the side of it cracked then the crack showed inside it is made of cheap material not even solid wood. I just tried my best to just make it work I poured a gallon of glue behind it. But thumbs up it was shipped with great packaging materials and a certificate of authencity of pearl whaterver which did not impress me. I don’t recommend this better make your own ... show more

Strange that they put the pearl where it can be seen, but ok, I get its a marketing thing, but you could put it on the back still recognizing it is a pearl mantel. Not a big deal, but oh well. Good quality for the price. Looks good up on my new stone fireplace.
