I don’t understand where the negative reviews come from but the product I received was as good in build quality as OEM. Maybe they done understand that for it to be “quick release”, there HAS to be a little movement! It’s a novel concept. Honestly though, it’s a great rack that locks on easily and stays locked. So, when I purchased this I was super excited. But now I am blessed to not have had my wife on the back when this happened. I was about a block away from my home when I ran over a man hole cover (small bump) when I heard a loud crack. I pulled over and my tour pack was hanging over on my rear fender and my brake light was damaged. When I removed the tour pack from the bike I saw that this bracelet had lost the rubber inserts and the frame was bent on both sides (see pictures). It was wobbly when I first installed it but I didn’t think 🤔 anything of it. Inside my tour pack was 3 cleaning rags, a baseball cap and a cleaning spray bottle (no where near 50 lbs). Just be careful if you decide to get this item. Frame is really thin in comparison to the original stock bracket which unfortunately I have to put back on. ... show more

    • Needed some coaxing / modification to fit on my dock.

This did not fit on my (non Harley, Amazon purchased) docking hardware without modification. The hooks that wrap onto the front portion of the docking hardware were too narrow. Or my docking receivers were too thick. Either way, I found it necessary to take my MAP torch and heat up the plastic bushings until soft, while simultaneously forcing the assembly onto the receiver. As the bushings cooled, they took on the exact shape of the receivers. Like so many things in my life, the process was risky, and hot, and smelly, but thankfully it worked, and I avoided having to return this. Once mounted, I found the assembly to be very strong. I bought this for a razor tour pack. It worked flawlessly. Also, it's very easy to make it secure. They sell locks but from what I've seen they're worthless. I used a zip tie around the little post that slides up and down to u latch it. Does more than the lock does.
