    • Keeps lights safe
Backing trailers can be tough on tail lights. These cages protect your lights from close calls. I'd rather spend money for what goes on the trailer than repairing the trailer. Money well spent.

    • A compromise at a decent price
These are a relatively light weight option but are also relatively cheap. They do provide a modest amount of protection, certainly a vast improvement over nothing. The steel sheet measures 0.058", or somewhere between 16 and 17 gauge. Probably 17 gauge plus the paint thickness. For about twice the $$ you can get an 11 gauge unit that will require some modification to work and isn't painted. Time will tell if these units do the job. You would be wise to throw another coat of paint on these as what they come with will rust in short order. ... show more

    • This is the answer to broken trailer taillights
I’ve broken my share of trailer lights, I use it a lot. Last week I was loading 15 to 25 lb river rocks into my overworked 4 by 8 trailer when I stumbled and broke off a piece of the passenger side light with my shin. While unloading the same load of rock with some scaffolding on top later that night the scaffolding slipped and there goes the drivers side light too. It was dangling from the wiring, there’s just no fixing that. I’m hard on equipment and I end up doing a lot of maintenance to keep it in good shape. Both trailer lights being broken in one night was too much. This product is the answer. It’s made from heavy gauge metal, allows your lights to be clearly seen while still protecting them on 5 sides. It had mounting options that made it easy to attach to my light brackets and would have saved my lights more than once. It’s not going to stop your taillight from breaking if you back into something hard or get into a wreck. What it will do is stop all the other things that break them. If you’re trailers lights are mounted on the outside of your trailer and are unprotected this is the answer. It’s the best accessory I’ve purchased for my little red trailer yet. I haven’t had to use the spare tire once in 3 years but I’ve replaced lenses or entire taillights lights several times. ... show more

Bought a cheap light duty trailer from HF and noticed there were no lense covers. Put them on my trailer and my girlfriend was walking around the rear end and let's just say shin met metal. They didn't budge one bit, she on the other hand did with a few choice words about them, lmao
