Works as anticipated, love not having to switch out game cards. I also found a fix for the device not powering off fully while in sleep mode. Turn off the option to maintain internet connection while in sleep mode on the switch settings. The device will power off as it should when you put the switch to sleep. Hope that helps!! Update: Ill still see the light for the device come on from time to time, the switch maintains sleep mode though. I purchase this item about a year ago because I was tired of getting up and switching game cards on the console every time my kid got bored with the one he was playing. I looked for something like this everywhere and couldn't find it. Finally, I came across this one on Amazon. I decided to give it a try. BOOM - it worked!!! I'm able to put 4 games and switch them from the screen menu! All I had to do was close the current game and select the new one. That easy. I'm looking for an expanded version so that we can insert more games.     • HUGE TIP: Use an external USB power adapter, do not plug directly into Switch Dock

This device works as described but with one huge caveat, you have to use an external USB power adapter. The manufacturer even posted this as an answer to someone's question here, and it totally resolves most of the major annoying issues. So, go ahead and take out one of your old USB phone chargers that's been laying around in your miscellaneous drawer and plug this device into one of those, rather than using the USB ports on the Switch. This resolves a couple major issues: 1. This allows you to be able to put your Switch to sleep again without it automatically turning back on. 2. This allows your selected game to stay selected and running, even when putting your Switch to sleep. The only minor downside is the device is now drawing a small amount of power 24 hours/day from the external USB power adapter. However, this is only about 0.5 watts so basically a negligible amount in order to solve the major functionality issues outlined above. Note: the cause of the problem is it sounds like Nintendo changed something or added a chip after the manufacturer designed and starting making this 3rd party device, so I don't think it was a design flaw at the time of manufacturing. While most games work great with this system, there are a handfull that do not. One of those games is diablo 3 does not like the adapter at all. The game will act slow, and crash at random times.

    • Now I can't turn off the console.

It does what it says and will keep you from having to slid games in and out which is why I bought it. However, now I have to slide it's usb in and out when I'm done playing or it will keep the console from turning off:( not that great.

Bought the 4 game button switcher for $12 during prime day thinking this will be great for swapping the few physical games I play on dock. I realized there is no way to put your switch to sleep tho, it will power cycle your switch back on. I have the switch set to power my tv on/off from dock, and the tv turning off will power the switch to sleep, however the issue was also keeping my tv on as well. I returned it for this issue. If you don’t mind keeping your switch on all the time and don’t want the hdmi feature to power on/off your tv with switch this might still be useful for you. ... show more

My only little complaint is that no matter where you connect the USB for this game card reader, you'll always see the lights on it go on and off every now an then, so what you need to do is what I'm doing, use a USB extension cable that has a on and off switch, so you can always easily power it off with the extension cable's power switch, whenever you're done using your Nintendo Switch for now. ... show more
