  • Cuts great
Color: White
Great cutter the only thing that’s plastic is the part that you hold which is the handle everything else is metal and very sturdy

  • I almost returned this....
Color: Black
I almost returned this paper cutter because I couldn't figure out how to lock the blade arm in the closed position. I am planning on having this in my elementary school art room, so the locking feature is a must (even though it will be kept out of the students reach). I know I'm not the only person who couldn't figure it out because I read some other reviews. Well, if you watch the video on the Amazon product page it will show you how to do it. You gently pull the arm outward (away from the paper board) and then push it down and allow it to latch into place against the paper board. Some of you super-smarties probably figured this out on your own... but having directions come with the product (mine didn't come with directions) would really help. Other than that - I really love it. It cuts well. I love the placement of the ruler in the middle of the board as opposed to at the top. It is super light and easy to transport - I can't stand the heavy ones that can't quickly be moved about the room. AND, it does have the safety locking feature after all :) ... show more

  • Lightweight and easy to use; not super secure
Color: Pink
I love this product for the how easy it is to use and how lightweight it is. I wasn't as thrilled will how easy it is to release the blade from the safety catch. My 4-year old was able to pull the handle up before I could run over and snatch it out of her grasp. It is on a very high shelf now. But works really great. ... show more

  • Good for personal use, but not high volume cutting
Color: Pink
I work in politics and prior to the election had to cut thousands of mailers for the candidate. About half way through one of the handles broke off, another wouldn't close as the metal pieces where the cutter is was no longer aligned. We did cut thousands of items but we had to through away after this project, and were not able to use again ... show more

  • Gets the job done, peachy pink color.
Color: Pink
Have used the paper cutter about 3 times now, cuts normally & smooth, VERY light weight and color is more of a peachy pink to me. I cut vellum paper & cardstock & it cut nicely on both papers. Pretty basic cutter but the pink is a bonus, recommended for basic cuts.

Cuts paper cleanly

  • You get what you pay for: it will cut paper, but not well
Color: Black
I purchased this to cut watercolor paper. I have owned a Swingline lite classic cutter for many years and needed a second cutter for two people to work simultaneously. A second Swingline would not have arrived in time, so I bought this other brand. Unfortunately, I will be returning it and ordering the Swingline after all. Reasons: 1 It does not cut anywhere as well as the Swingline. The Swingline cuts through several layers of thick watercolor card. This managed two, but only near the hinge (see next point). 2 The blade on this cutter is inconsistent. It's sharp near the hinge but wobbly and dull closer to the handle. This means it can only make clean, short cuts at the top of the cutter. 3 It does cut paper. It cuts one sheet easily. When I tried 5 sheets, the blade pulled the paper sideways and produced a non-straight cut. 4 I loved how the handle locked (spring-loaded at hinge) for safety. 5 The safety guard made it very challenging to see where the blade was cutting the paper. This means that if you made a mark on the edge of your sheet to know where to position the blade, you could hardly see it. 6 So you relied on the grid and rulers on the cutter. Except the inch ruler was at the top, but the inch grid was at the bottom of the bed, separated from the inch ruler by a centimeter section (both ruler and grid). Quite confusing. I wasted some watercolor paper before realizing I was using the cm-grid instead of the inch grid to measure my cuts. I suppose a person could get used to it over time, but it isn't intuitive, which makes me think it could've been better designed. If you're buying this to slice a couple sheets of printer paper, it'll be OK. But anything thicker, and I'd recommend skipping this and buying the swingline instead. ... show more
