  • A must have for your camera gear !
The media could not be loaded. This articulating arm and mini clamp kit was just what I needed to complete my camera rig. It fits on any standard shoe mount (or 1/4 tripod mount). The arm's unique design features a single-point locking mechanism, which gives the user maximum flexibility. Moving the display on multiple axes is quick and easy, allowing users to find the best possible viewing angle. In addition, the bottom vertical spacer piece is removable to reveal a 1/4"-20 male screw, and the bottom shoe mount is removable to reveal a 1/4"-20 female thread. The full length of this arm (tip-to-tip) measures 11", and the usable extension range (end-joint to end-joint) measures around 8.3". The mini clamp that comes with this kit is a smaller version of the popular "Impact Super Clamp". Weighing in at a mere 4 oz, this clamp feels sturdy enough to support a fair payload without much troubles. This, and the fact that it comes with 1/4"-20 and 3/8" female sockets, makes it useful for use with most standard camera and grip accessories. It's also useful for small sets or tabletop photography. The clamp is made of lightweight aluminum and features a textured, nonslip jaw grip that is optimized to work with poles or flat objects. So far, I am pretty impressed and happy with this kit and would definitely recommend it to anybody in the market for this kind of accessory to add to their camera gear. ... show more

  • The Perfect Tool!
I just purchased this magic arm for my photo rig and I could not be happier. The arm mounts perfectly onto the shoe mount on my kit and the rotating arm and clamp are perfect for holding my microphone at just the right distance for filming. I use my smartphone to record interviews as part of my job. I would often find that I could not get the microphone into the correct position to get the best sound that I needed. The magic arm has pivoting ends and a locking mechanism in the middle, which gives me a lot of flexibility when moving the microphone around. When fully extended, it measures 11" but I find it works best at the halfway bend. The metal feels strong and durable and the clamp is very sturdy as well. My microphone attachment is round, but the padded grip inside the clamp is strong enough to hold it and the twist lock keeps it in place nicely. I am sure that it could be used for all sorts of other purposes as the shoe mount would fit on almost any DSLR camera. I would definitely recommend this magic arm tool to anybody looking for an easy way to add more attachments to their camera or rig. ... show more

  • Held steady over 100mph!
Got this for my GoPro 8 for various angles on my motorcycle. Works great, and it does hold pretty steady, I wouldn't put much more weight on it if used on the road, but its not meant for that, I pushed over 100mph with it mounted on the side of my motorcycle and the handlebar (pic attached) and it didn't move or fall off (thankfully since I didn't have any safety leashes). Docked 1 star for the rubber pads on the clamp, they deteriorated and tore off on the first use, and since I put these on my exposed frame, I dont want the frame to be scratched. Easily remedied by wrapping the clamps in electrical tape, but I do think that a clamp like this should have better rubber for both grip and protection for whatever you mount it to. Would buy again if needed. ... show more

  • Small footprint, holds up well and can be used for so many different things!
This is a fantastic little device that can be used for so many different things! It has a small footprint (can easily be stored in a camera bag), and it really does come in handy! The ways I use this device are as follows: If I'm shooting outdoors or in-studio, I use the clamp to secure a flash, camera, Gopro or other device to a pole, tree branch, etc. It allows for me to have a quick and secure off-camera flash (for interesting lighting) or camera (for slow shutter or filming). It works great! It took me a couple minutes to learn how to properly secure and balance the device, but once I had it I felt this little arm could definitely hold the load. This is also a neat little way to attach a flash / monitor to your camera. I have a picture that shows how I attached the flash to my camera. It allows for me to walk around and shoot with the flash, while making sure the flash is not directly above the camera. This is only a couple ways this item can be used. There are a ton of other uses! And for the price and small footprint you really can't go wrong! ... show more

  • Very useful things to have in your kit
I needed a super clamp and magic arm (fun names here) for different things and was happy to find these being sold together for a great price. They are both well made and very secure. I wish the magic arm weighed a little less because my rig weighs a ton now with everything attached, but it is solid and strong and the tightening system works well. I was somewhat concerned mounting this to the shoe mount of my camera because you're basically attaching a strong rigid lever to a potentially weak point that could cause damage to your camera. I rectified this by adding a camera cage (and its additional bulk and weight!) to my rig. The shoe mount part can be removed and then both ends of the arm have the same 1/4" screw on them. That's how I prefer to mount to my cage so I can mount lower to lower the center of gravity. ... show more

  • Takes some fidgeting.
One knob to rule them all and on my tripod bind this mount...or something. Haha. I got a panel light a few weeks back and where I need it to be, it was blocking part of my camera's view. Picked this up to mount it on the side of my tripod. It's a pretty slick little mount and quite a bit cheaper than the others. Pros: Full metal construction - Very sturdy, and the single knob tightens BOTH END heads as well as the center angle. It's a really nice design. Took some fidgeting to figure it out (no instructions included), but I got it exactly where I wanted it. Padded Clamp - The clamp is solid. Inside is lined with padding to protect whatever I mount it to. Great grip, and it isn't slipping anywhere. Flexibility - YES. The ball heads make it possible to position this in any way I need. This is a keeper. Glad I went with this one instead of something smaller or more expensive. ... show more
