  • Perfect for the price
Size: 3/4 size
Violin arrived quickly and without damage. Bought this as a cheap spare for my daughter to practice on while her higher quality violin stays at school for rehearsal and performance. I was not expecting an impressive violin, just one that would do the job. It is definitely that and more. It comes with everything needed to get going out of the box - plus extra strings! Hard to beat for $85. It was woefully out of tune on arrival - as expected- but with the tuner, a 4 minute video and 15minutes of patience I had it perfectly tuned and in playing order. Sound is decent. Again for the price, a great first option. It will make a great practice instrument and saves the wear and tear on her more expensive violin being schlepped back and forth on the bus. ... show more

  • DONT BUY!!
Size: Full size
I had to buy this violin 4 TIMES. Each time it came different. Once a whole entire different color, with obviously like every cheap violin off Amazon, and slipping pegs that are worse than every new violin. (Violins that you get start off with slipping pegs, obviously, but this one was outrageous!) one of the times it had a string broken off, snapped, couldn’t even be placed back on, 3rd time it had an awful bridge that was straight… not even how a violin bridge is meant to be placed. 4th time, the slipping pegs were so bad, that all my strings would fall flat from me plucking, or even using my bow on the strings. I had to buy a new violin from a different brand, obviously. When i got this violin the 2nd time, the shoulder rests were different sizes.. what? One was bigger than the other. The sound quality is awful! It’s so squeaky even on the g/d string! The E string frays so quick, when I got it the first time, the E string frayed within 24 hours. I mean, you’re buying a violin for $80. I wouldn’t be surprised if buying a used violin from Facebook marketplace would be better than this one. Each time I got this violin, it was used, or at least looked like it was. The performance is awful! My G, D, and A snapped. D and A on the same day, after my G snapped. This is just disappointing… The weight of the case is so light, that whenever it drops (accidentally, obviously) on the ground because it slipped, my violin would get chipped each time. The so called “wood” on the violin looks and feels like plastic… The rosin it comes with is awful, and barely has the ability to grip the bow well enough. The bow is awful as well. There is so little hair on the bow that when a piece fell off, the scratchiness would get worse. The tuner is awful too. It barely works as well. The extra strings are terrible, as all the extra strings came frayed every single time I got them. The value of this violin is awful, if you’d be able, it would be better to make an investment to a more expensive brand. There’s really no pros to this violin, everything is just cons at this point. This violin is awful, don’t buy it unless you like being disappointed esch time you play. ... show more

I will say I bought this violin not expecting much but I have been pleasantly surprised as I play in a concert orchestra and this violin is amazing quality the finish is smooth and look nice it Has a nice warm rich tone to it the bow is amazingly carved and the hair is very nice this is a little above a beginner violin I say this is more an orchestral violin but would be great for a student in orchestra I will link concert videos of me playing with this violin ... show more

  • Slightly off from the picture but alright overall
Size: Full size
So this violin came in a timely manner and arrived unscathed. The bridge was in place everything seemed in order. The violin had this kinda wood/smooth plastic feel but it looked alright. The case is poorly made. The curved piece at the top that holds the bows in place came broken off... I was able to place it back but after that it was never as stable as it should have. The box at the top is hard to bring out and harder to keep it closed so the rosin and tuner don't fall out. the plastic bow holders that twist vertically and horizontally was also broken... it spun like a pinwheel... The tuner and the shoulder rest were pretty good, For someone who has had their orchestra teacher tune their instrument all their violin career It was pretty easy to tune by myself. Just gotta make sure the tuner is set to the violin setting, you're only turning the pegs slightly at a time, and that you're pushing in while tuning so that it stays in the position you wanted it in. https://youtu.be/IWAFbV0bTrw use that to figure it out. It's basically the same. You clip the tuner to the scroll and tune it with the pegs and fine tuners until the tuner flashes green. The bow like all new bows had to be rosined a-lot to get a sound... The shoulder rest was adjusted to the 4/4 size and it fit and felt AMAZING... If you need a beginner set this one is worth your money... with some patience and love I hope this instrument will get me through hs orchestra... ... show more

  • Nice complete violin for beginers
Size: 1/2 size
We bought this as a gift for our 10 year old nephew who started playing at school. I was a little hesitant based on the low price. But when he got it he was very pleased. We couldn't figure out how to use the tuner but he had his music teacher tune it for him and she told him it was a very nice beginner instrument. He has had it for 6 months now and plays it almost every day in school and practices at home. It is still in near new condition. He has given us several home "performances" and it sounds very good. It comes with everything that is needed to get a great start. If he continues with it and needs a larger size I would definitely buy another larger one. ... show more
