  • Inexpensive, But In No Way Cheap.
I'm an aircraft mechanic and a private pilot. These headsets are very competent and comfortable. I've personally used these in 50+ different GA aircraft. Mooney, Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, American Champion, LSA's, these worked flawlessly in all. Being a mechanic they get a lot of use on the ground in south Texas. Even with high summer heat and cabin temps they remained comfortable to wear. The mic is clear with good tone, the speakers are good quality and remain clear even at high volume settings. I'm really impressed with these inexpensive (not cheap) headsets. ... show more

  • VERY nice headset!
I've been using these headsets for about a month now. I bought him a couple days before my very first lesson. I've been able to hear my instructor, Tower, and ground clearly. Like some others have said, the microphone occasionally lags picking my voice up. In experimenting, I found that this generally only happens when the microphone is too far away from my lips. I have not found the headsets to be overly heavy or cumbersome. The ear cuffs are not uncomfortable. They do a good job blocking out a lot of the ambient noises. I will note that it would be nice to have a small carrying case/bag to help protect them in my bag but I would definitely recommend these to anybody looking for affordable quality headsets. ... show more

  • They work great
These were recommended to me as being the best bang for the buck headset out there. They worked great through flight school and I'll keep them as a spare set. Sound quality and comfort are great, but the noise cancelation is just okay.

  • Best bang for the buck!
Tested it on a C-162...an aircraft that has very minimal to almost nil soundproofing material to keep weight within sport aircraft limitations. This headset rocks! I couldn't believe the amount of noise reduction it rendered without famous clamping force of my david clarks. ....Sorry DC people, it is what it is.... I'm still using my H10-30's and 10-13xl's....but for the price i paid for this unit, i was expecting a mediocre performance. Was i ever wrong..the clamping force was never an issue. No clue how they did it but i sure wish DC could learn something from Kore headsets! 2nd review... I changed the heads with an Oregon aero unit and fitted the mic with a leather cover, also from the same company. ...and used it on an open cockpit plane.....and all I can say is..Wow!!!! Now remember folks....an enc or an anr headset is a total waste of money on open cockpit planes. The wind noise will be too much for it to handle...yes, even your $1000 headset from bose or lightspeed will be helpless against it. However, with this add on I did, it worked perfectly! It's the same as being inside my skyhawk. =) I only wish I had this set when I started flying. 3rd review. After 200+ hours on it, a squealing noise has developed when transmitting. Not sure where or why or where it’s coming from but I have isolated it to be the headset itself. Good thing I always bring a backup headset on every flight. Changed headset during flight and the mystery squealing noise is gone. I must say it’s the first time I have encountered this and while it does not change my opinion on the set, I must retire this unit. I’ll probably use some of its parts as a spare. ... show more

  • Exceptional Value
First off, these are not $1000+ ANR headsets so comparing them to one of those is not fair. However I flew with both a top of the line ANR and this set in the same plane on the same day and the over $900 in savings pays for a lot of time flying. I mostly fly a Decathlon and a Sport Cruiser. They are both quite noisy planes for different reasons however this headset performs excellent, sound is very clear, mic picks up well without a lot of background noise. I did put the thicker gel pads on which helped to seal around my sunglasses. In a 172, the difference between the ANR and this headset is all but undetectable. If I had to find a complaint, negative G maneuvers after an hour of flying with the cushions getting wet from sweat, the headset did try to come off a few times. 99.9% of users need not to ever worry about this and there are only a couple options, a chin strap which is uncomfortable or a tighter grip, also uncomfortable. So for that, I will tolerate them sliding up a little and go to a helmet when needing more secure headset. ... show more

  • Good quality for the price
I ordered this headset because it was the cheapest one I could find and with good reviews. I right away bought the gel cushions for it as well since I saw in the reviews it was better. The first headset I bought did not work and my flight instructor could not hear me no matter how much we tried to change the settings in the aircraft. Unfortunately, it was past my time for free returns but i was able to get some of my money back and I bought another set. This is the one I’m using now and i haven’t had any problems with it. I can hear everything on the radio clearly, i am heard clearly, the gel cushions are comfortable, and I can still hear the engine enough. It does have some strong clamping action though so if that bothers you, you might want to invest more for a different headset because after a 4+ hour flight it starts to hurt a little bit. But if you’re looking for something good and cheap I’d definitely recommend. ... show more
