    • Not so great for faded gelcoat on RV
At the suggestion of some posters on an RV specific forum, I tried Polytrol on my faded gray gelcoat front cap on my 5th wheel. I properly cleaned it first, then applied the Polytrol per the directions. I wouldn't say it really helped anything. To be fair, the color in the gelcoat was defective to start with as many RV's have this issue. I spent some substantial money with a pro detailer, and the result was much better than the Polytrol but it still far from looking "factory new." I'm giving three stars because I don't think necessarily it's a bad product just not effective for the specific issue I had. I will probably try to use up the remainder of my supply trying it out on black plastic automotive trim. ... show more

Bought a second hand Thule roof box that was faded, dull, and chalky. After a good wash with car cleaning soap to take off the dirt and grime, set it out in the sun to dry on a hot day for a few hours. Brought the roof box into the shade and applied polytrol to the roof box. It was very easy to use want the results blew me away. It looks great! Kept it under a patio cover for a few days to air out the strong smell. The After photo was taken a few days after applying Polytrol. I'm planning to use it to refresh my front porch lights, mailbox, kids bikes, and swing stand. Tips: Wear gloves when applying the solution. It will tear up your hands. Use in a well-ventilated space, it has a strong chemical smell, and even after airing out for a few days, it still has a moderate odor. ... show more

I purchased this product to revive the color in my patio resin lounge chairs. It took so time to apply and I had to apply twice but what a difference. So far, it is holding up to the Florida sun. Also used it on faded black rubber areas on my 2012 Honda Pilot and again it made a huge difference. I highly recommend this product and will buy it again when needed. ... show more

Great product to renew faded Garage Doors and after application on January 2017 it has now faded due to severe sun exposure, HOT dry climate, and Dark Brown color which absorbs heat. The upper door section which is shaded by the roof overhang is still in great condition so I'll have to reapply like before with a cloth rag to get into the nooks & crannies of the embossed metal doors. EZ to apply or touch up and wipe off excess with a dry towel...RECOMMENDED.... ... show more

    • surrounding molding and side windows molding looked as good as the day the door was installed
I seldom write reviews but had to for this product. Polytrol Renovateur saved me from having to replace my weathered front door, or having it professionally sanded and repainted, both of which would have cost me a fortune. Within a couple minutes of applying this product my front door, the frame, surrounding molding and side windows molding looked as good as the day the door was installed. My lacquer based paint was not chipping or coming off.....it was just turning white from oxidation. This product instantly brought it back to the original color. Best and easiest home improvement I have come across in years! Delivery was quick. GREAT product! I will definitely use it again! ... show more

Never leave reviews but had to. This product works! Used it on my faded yakima rooftop box. Looks like brand new. I did end up with 2 coats. Applied in the evening out of the sun.

    • Great restoration product for composite furniture
Truly a great product. Brings shine and restore surface. Once dried and wiped down with a wet cloth, it doesn't not leave sticky residue. Note that it will not repair old damage or scratches - it's not a paint
